Zogby article with devastating news for Bush lovers
Bush is losing almost all across the board. His campaign is teetering on the edge of a freefall.

Don't you just love it?

All their bitterness and lies, have in many ways, turned people off. I've always felt that a more positive campaign builds a solid base.
Bush has taken this country so far down, it won't be an easy fix. :puke:

11. 4 % of Gore voters are going for Bush; 8 % of Bush voters going to Kerry -
I am elated that Kerry is sucking up that many Bush 2000 voters, but dammit, what is wrong with that 4% of Gore voters?

15. I think they're lying or made a mistake
There is no way I can see that anyone who voted for Gore could vote for Bush. I can understand someone being unenthusiastic about either of their choices but to actually VOTE for Bush? Unthinkable!

26. that part confuses me
I saw the breakdown in the poll where it said that, but if it's true, why is Kerry not leading any southern states? (down in NC, SC, GA, evenish to down in FL, down in AL, MS, LA, evenish in AR and TN) ... how can you lead an entire region without leading any of the states within it?

36. It's a bit odd, all right
I noticed that the favorable ratings for both Bush and Kerry are at 55%, which means some of those polled are favorable to both? Weird.

33. Thank God for John Edwards
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 04:20 PM by DesertedRose
He can clean that GOP spill up right quick.

"While Kerry’s choice of Senator John Edwards gives him his biggest boost, his economic populism and courting of veterans are also key in his eroding of Mr. Bush’s support. Not only has Kerry now come to a tie with Bush in favorability in the South (55% for both), the Kerry-Edwards ticket has pulled ahead, 48% to 46% in the South..."

YES! The Democratic South shall rise again!

And among young voters – 18-29 year olds – a group Al Gore only won by 2 points in 2000, Kerry is winning in a landslide, 53% to 33%.

23. Holy sh*t! I just read the entire article. WOW!
I know, yesterday I was saying to myself that polls are deceiving, and how can these 2 guys be tied. Now I have to fight the elation I feel after reading the Zogby story. I do really believe you can't put too much trust in polls because there are so many variables, but it's very hard to stay calm when they are going so strong in our favor.

The next 14 weeks are gonna drive me NUTS!!

I'm in Texas. I wanna turn Texas BLUE!! I know it won't happen this year, BUT IT WILL HAOPEN!!

Meanwhile, those of you in swing states...if you can think of ANYTHING I can do from Texas to help you in your swing state, like calling people to vote, to register to vote, etc..on weekends, when I have free airtime and free long-distance...let me know!!

I wanna send Bush a fuckin' U-Haul on November 2!!!

Now, sing along with me, folks...

Hit the road, George...
And don'tcha come back no more no more no more
Hit the road, George, and don'tcha come back no more...don'tcha come back no more...

Hit the road, Dick...
And don'tcha come back no more no more no more

28. Poetry to my eyes !
This sounds a lot more real than the constant "dead heat" bullshit we keep hearing from the mainstream media.

It is only a matter of weeks before they cannot sell that nonsense any more. At that point, when the undeniable tenor of the election is that Bush is in serious trouble, that day will mark our inevitable victory! Cuz' I said so! :)

29. Awesome Stats! I know many bush voters who will be
voting for Kerry this time around.

Most did not like Gore that much on a personal level & felt that bush seemed like a decent guy . . . .

After 3+ years of ultra right wing politics, however, plus the crappy economy & stock market, WMD's, etc, etc . . . Many I know feel duped by bush & would NEVER vote for him again.

Also of interest: Here in GA, Kerry/Anti-Bush bumper stickers must outnumber those 'w' stickers 5 to 1!

41. We're trying REALLY hard down here!!!! I try to remember what my state
party chair said at my dem women's club luncheon last fall. Someone asked him how he thought Bush* would win TN when TN didn't vote Gore in '00 and his response as close as I can remember it, 'people were holding Clinton's behavior against Gore for some odd reason and thought that maybe Bush* didn't look too bad. But after 3 yrs. of Bush* people are starting to see that putting him in office was a huge mistake.' He said that his pug counterpart didn't care for that comment.

I think the job losses have smacked some people awake, too.

Keep good thoughts for us 'cause we are truly trying to turn things around!

39. Kerry is 52% to Bush* 37% among Catholics!

This Catholic loves it! I hate the way they've been weaseling around, trying to lure Catholics into voting for them. Catholics have always been a major Democratic bloc and should stay that way!

"Mr. Kerry is also running very strong among Catholics, topping Mr. Bush, 52% to 37%, showing that not only has Bush’s courting of them failed, but his use of wedge issues like gay marriage and partial birth abortion have failed to separate Catholic voters from Kerry."

"The Senator’s lead among Catholics is similar to the Clinton margins of the 1990s."

There's alot of reasons for this, but I think the most important in my mind is Iraq, no matter how much the administration wants to prop it up. The Iraq War was based on a lie, and no amount of backpedalling and excuses is going to overcome that to those on the fence...
