I just called CNN
to tell them that because of the following three things:

1: Their broadcasting of the F word and nothing being done to them.

2: The fact that Ralph Reed critiqued Kerry's speech and the fact that I know they won't have any Democrats critique Chimpy's speech

3: and the fact that Robert Novak (A douchebag for liberty) is still employed after commiting treason by outting a CIA agent's name:

My family, my friends, many members of my Hillel organization and the brothers in my fraternity chapter will never watch their network again.

Sad thing is the schmuck who answered me couldn't hang up fast enough. I know AOL Time Warner doesn't care about us and doesn't give a shit what we think, but it made me feel good to do that.

Now we need to work on theirs and Faux News' sponsors.

1. I'm always nice to the folks who take the calls..

The important thing is getting the message passed on. You don't know that the poor phone jockey doesn't agree with you.

3. CNN - 404-827-0234
It's always sounded to me like the operators agree with me - but they aren't allowed to comment on the calls.

2. I'd highly suggest that you email them so
that something will be on record. These morons that answer the phone are surreal.

5. MoveOn asked people to write letters - here's mine
I'm guessing that you are busy lining up progressive voices to provide commentary of the RNC love fest at the end of August. What's that you say??? You don't know any? Well, gee, who would have guessed??

Here is a short list for you - I'm certain with all your vast resources you will be able to contact most on the list for availability, if not respond to this email and I can direct you. - (most of these people and organizations are based in New York so it shouldn't be a huge logistical problem.)

Media Matters For America - http://mediamatters.org/

Katrina vanden Heuvel - Editor, The Nation

Jann Wenner - Editor and publisher, Rolling Stone

Noah Winer (or one of the other founders of MoveOn.org)

Any officer or spokesperson of Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Sierra Club, NOW, NARAL, League of Conservation Voters, CodePink, A.C.T (America Coming Together)

William Greider

Paul Krugman

Eric Alterman

Katha Pollittt

Bill Moyers

Walter Cronkite

Molly Ivins

Jim Hightower

Rev. Al Sharpton

Howard Dean

Amy Goodman

George Soros

Warren Buffet (although on second glance since his wife just died maybe not)

Well that's a start. Let me know if you need more names. The above names and organizations didn't require much deliberation so I'm certain I can suggest additional names if given an additional 15 minutes.

Just a comment on CNN's coverage of the just completed Democratic convention - C-Span did an excellent job - nobody told me what to think (I am quite capable), no one decided what/who I should watch (I appreciate choice), no one told me what I just heard or what it meant (again that capability thing) and, horror of horrors, no one gave a rats ass about the balloons!

7. on the first one:
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 04:28 PM by Neo Progressive
they're cable, not broadcast, therefore nothing can be done to them. They didn't mean to broadcast it anyway, it was an unfortunate accident that the dumbass idiot who ran the balloons happens to have a mouth like a sailor.

let's be fair here, the first night of the convention had ben affleck, al sharpton, and a former clinton official critiquing everything along with Tucker Carlson. For the most part they were very balanced in what they did. But then again, I don't see everyone who simply REPORTS as having a conservative bias like a lot of the lunatics on this forum. By the way, having the other side give their opinion is a good idea, which leads me to...

You know for a fact they won't have Democrats critique Bush's speech? How do you know this? Because CNN has a conservative bias? If you truly believe that, I pity you. It really must suck to think everyone in the media is against your personal political beliefs. CNN is a lazy news organization, but it's not shilling for the administration ala Fox News.

Novak hasn't been charged with treason yet. Chances are he'd sue the hell out of CNN for violating the terms of the contract they signed if they simply fired him for a crime he wasn't charged with. I'm pretty sure they want to avoid any legal wranglings like that.
