for me, this convention was the july august september AND october surprise
all rolled into one

these delegates and singers and civil rights tribute and ilana wexler and barack obama and reverend al and the native americans singing the national anthem in their native language and
"when arab americans are gathered up and not allowed legal representation, that offends me and my civil liberties" (something like that)
and "youve got a friend"

and the faces of real america all rolled into a sidewinder, powerhouse 4 days, culminating in THAT speech last night

well that was everything i could only imagine. and more

i dont want to say i wasnt expecting a great time, but this was seriously genious. and i dont throw around that word.

it was beyond beautiful. these are people make you feel that they GET IT. saudi royal family blended in with taking back our country and telling the american people the truth and humbly praying that we can be on Gods side.....

well - they hit me upside and downside and never let up
(ok the joementum hit a snag but outside of that....)

i can believe in my future government.

it feels so possible and i am truly bown away,

1. I have those feelings too.
Of being touched and inspired and, yes, blown away.

2. i should add that i know there is a lot of work to do and
that the war is this horrendous thing that i dont know how is going to be handled, and other very important issues that must be watched and dealt with and, yes, fought for.

i think i wasnt expecting it to be so inclusive. to be so powerful and funny and serious and kerry called this man OUT last night and put the election on his terms

he didnt have to do that. he could have taken the easy and safe road which is what many get pissed off about the democratic party. but he spoke out for the environment and our civil liberties and the destruction of our very democracy that is everywhere in this * administration

i just felt he and the convention touched on all the things that are good and important and i felt it sincerely because he didnt have to let all this stuff out, but he did.

and im thankful that all the things against the war were said. we are huge tent and thats what i love....
