I went to the democratic party's Kerry event
Last night here in Tucson, Arizona. The local media spent MORE time interviewing and taping the protesters outside (which I will get to in a minute) than they did asking the people who are supporting Kerry their feelings and impressions of the man and the direction of the campaign.

Speaking of the protester who are protesting the Democratic party, this basically sums them up:

When I said Bush is destroying the freedoms I, as a future constitutional lawyer, hold dear, their response was "The constitution is a nightmare that is used by the white power elite to control and oppress dissent."

When I asked if they thought this country could survive another four years of Bush, I got a lot of puzzled looks and was told: "Why should we care. We don't care about this country. It's not what I want."

Not to sound conservative, but that attitude pissed me off. I criticize my country and my government daily, as any good American should and must. But the fact that I was told that "I don't care about my country" bothers me.

I love my country, but those who scream that dissent is unpatriotic and anti-American (neo-cons and Freepers) and those who say "I don't care about America" (the protesters I ran into) really should be questioned about their loyalty to our country.

This is how I feel deep down. When I tried to talk to them about what I believe Kerry/Edwards would do for this country, I was told I was "a Republican in denial" and to "go murder more Iraqis."

If this is who is protesting against us, and if this is what was outside the Fleet Center in Boston, are you are angry at these people as you are at the Bush camp?

These people pissed me off so much, I was actually calm angry.

2. Relax... both parties have their elephants in the living room.
For us its the anti-war crowd. Now, I protested the war and all that. But once the bombs started flying I stopped... why? Because the damage has been done and now is the time to fix what's wrong. I'm still deeply anti-war but protesting it now, particularly the message of dropping everything and bringing all the troops home is just insane and not even Dennis would be able to pull that off if he were Commander-in-chief.

So we have the anti-war crowd, but remember they are our brothers and sisters, right now they are the relatives the Dems don't want to admit to but they are there.

But, look at the other side... who are the elephants in the living room for the repukes?

Racists. Fascists. Fundies. Look it up its there for all to see if you research it for a second.

I'll take the anti-war left over fascists any day!

4. Did you ever hear of road rage?
I believe that there are some people that protest just to protest. They are angry and dysfunctional and protest gives them something to focus on.

5. Who organized the protests?
I've known some LaRouche supporters who talk like that, but other than that it seems like a bunch of dumbasses who either were hired for the newscrew to see (and make ya'll look bad), or just misguided idiots who don't know what the hell they want. Don't sweat it, great night for Kerry and the Democratic party no matter who was protesting. Just wait until the RNC, THEN they'll see some protesting!!

7. Thank god they still have enough Freedom left to piss you off.
They have the right to protest in whatever way they wish as long as they don't destroy property or physically hurt anyone. I have the right to disagree with them.

9. Point taken
It was just the tenor of "I don't care about America" that bothered me the most. Don't say to me. Have some respect for my beliefs, because I have plenty for theirs. I just wasn't shown it.
