Bush Derides Kerry as Man of Few Achievements
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Reuters) - President Bush sought to grab back the political spotlight from John Kerry on Friday by casting his Democratic rival as a man of few achievements and offering a bare-bones preview of his own second-term agenda.

"We're turning the corner and we're not turning back," Bush told cheering supporters on a rain-soaked ballpark in Springfield, Missouri, as he returned to the campaign trail a day after Kerry's televised Democratic National Convention speech.

In his sharpest attack yet, Bush said Kerry had little to show for nearly 20 years in the U.S. Senate, including eight years on the Intelligence Committee. During that time, Bush said, Kerry had "no record of reforming" the intelligence services.

Kerry has made intelligence reform a cornerstone of his campaign and has called for the quick adoption of the recommendations of the Sept. 11 commission, stepping up pressure on the president, who is expected to act by executive order next week.

1. He (Bush) has opened the door for Kerry to talk
about all of Bush's failures.

He can't even ride a bike.

20. he's opened the door for Kerry to talk about his work on IranContra, BCCI
and how his investigations exposed more government corruption than any lawmaker in modern history.

BCCI investigations also include a little tidbit about a George W Bush of Texas who sold his Harken shares to a key figure who was put under arrest in the BCCI scandal, a man named Salem Bin Laden.

Care to discuss this with the press, George? Can you bring James Bath with you?

2. Is Bush out of his Chenying MIND???
Oh wait.. stupid question. Kerry? A man of LITTLE ACHIEVEMENTS? Ask the men who were actually ABOARD his swift boats about that? Better yet.. why not say it to their faces??? Any true-hearted veteran would open a can of whoop-ass if anyone other than the ruler-in-a-bubble made that kind of comment about a decorated war hero.

Bush needs stronger meds.. something that can stop his delusional rantings.

Didn't Kerry uncover Iran-Contra?
Maybe Bush doesn't appreciate Kerry's achievements because they make his Dad look like a crook.

Well.... let's compare apples and oranges then

George W. Bush Resume

Perhaps madness isn't confined to the inside of asylums... perhaps it isn't held out by whitehouse walls... perhaps it can strike anywhere.

9. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! BWAHAHAHAAHA!! Today has been a
special case of foot-in-mouth disease for Bush: first, starting his first speech with the stepford wife in the whitehouse statement, the turning the corner (LOL) now this.... UNBELIEVABLE.

24. He said one of the best reasons to give him four more years
was so that laura could remain First Lady - a not-so-subtle slam on the outstanding Teresa Heinz Kerry.

16. for the 50th time, he starts ALL his speechs that way... its a "stump"
I was watching him at a rally on C-span two weeks ago and he started the same way with the joke about Laura - it means nothing, and no one cares.

21. Then he should stop it now. Because now the only thing it means to us
is that he is dissing Teresa. That is what an intelligent, humane "leader" does.

19. Yeah, he hasn't done nothing!
Kerry's never engaged in insider trading or gone broke twice in the Texas oil patch. He's never drunkenly cussed out Al Hunt or been caught picking his nose at a ball game. The man has never accomplished nothin'.

18. Thank GOD I do not live in Springfield
Why does Shrub even go there? The pukes could run a hamster against God and Springfield would go hamster. I am not kidding. He's preaching to the choir there! Oh and by the way, I am sure it is the new ball field that Springfield's Daddy John Q Hammons built. He is a vain rich man who builds statues of himself and has streets and public buildings named after him ON that street. His motto is flatten everything historic or green and replace it with 1980's style poured concrete features. You know, the kind of guy who is right up there with Shrub on environmental issues.

22. Bush became an accomplished dirty joke teller
The CEO of Carlyle Group, David Rubenstein in a speech described how his company gave George Bush a place on their Board of Directors as a favor to his father. After 3 years, he had to let George go. Bush came to all the meetings but did nothing and learned nothing about the company. But he did always have a dirty joke handy to liven things up:

"...We put him on the board and spent three years. Came to all the meetings. Told a lot of jokes. Not that many clean ones. And after a while I kind of said to him, after about three years - you know, I'm not sure this is really for you. Maybe you should do something else. Because I don't think you're adding that much value to the board. You don't know that much about the company.

He said, well I think I'm getting out of this business anyway. And I don't really like it that much. So I'm probably going to resign from the board.

And I said, thanks - didn't think I'd ever see him again. His name is George W. Bush. He became President of the United States. So you know if you said to me, name 25 million people who would maybe be President of the United States, he wouldn't have been in that category. So you never know. Anyway, I haven't been invited to the White House for any things..."
