I Love NY (just not the Yankees)
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 05:10 PM by RationalRose
I was a trade show with my new company this week in NYC, and the target audience was Wall Street financial companies. Although I NEVER discuss politics at business events, when people found out I was from Boston, inevitably the DNC came up. Bear in mind that Wall Street is a bastion of Republicanism, and people from IT Project Managers to Vice Presidents were all psyched about Kerry and made it known that the RNC was NOT welcome in NYC! A salesperson from a Long Island town that lost quite a few residents in 9/11 said he was a Republican but that he was BULLSHIT that the 9/11 families haven't gotten justice and called Bush an incompetent ass.

My taxi driver Basil this afternoon had Air America radio blasting, and a taxi driver from Nigeria who just registered to vote for the first time went on a rant about Bush and how much he loved "Fahrenheit 9/11".

I think it is amazing that NYers of all stripes have pretty much had it with the chimp! Even though I was sad to leave Boston during the Convention, listening to the anger of NYers toward the RNC and Bush made it all worthwhile!

:bounce:

1. NYC is a delight ...
I dont think that Wall Street is the rock hard 'bastion' of conservatism as the Reich-Wing would have us believe ...

Fiscal conservative ? .. indeed: .. Social Conservatives ? .... hardly ...

Gotham is absolutely alive ....

I love it ...

3. It's true
they're far too busy snorting coke and partying to have conservative social values. ;-)
