Has the Daily Show got media passes for the RNC?
If they do that would be hilarious. Also, to the DUers that are complaining about Jon making fun of the Dems: Lighten Up! Michael Moore said it best in a nightline interview this week, we now have the sense of humour, not the Repubs. Besides, Jon is a lot more harsher on BusCo. than the Dems.

3. He is not harsher.
He just has so much more material on the Republicans because they give it to him.

4. I disagree.
When he makes fun of Dems it is often about how they look or non-important issues. When he makes fun of Repugs it is often about them taking us to war or failing before 9/11 or Bush being an idiot. Things that I believe are much harsher.

5. I don't think the RNC even wants him in NYC during the Con
which presents a problem since the Daily Show originates in the Big Apple.

7. They'll give it to him
I don't remember if Gillespie has said they would but it would give Jon (who clearly is a liberal) a great opening to make fun of the GOP.

Either way the GOP convention will be very easy to make fun of. You're right about having a sense of humor (if it's funny). I enjoy Letterman's splicing of comments by Gore and Kucinich because it was so ridiculous. Leno's jokes just aren't very funny.

Stewart takes some good shots at dems, but his greatest strength is making fun of the cable news networks and mainstream media. He really whacked Chris Matthews and Howard Fineman the other night.

9. ...and he called the media "retarded" to Wolf Blitzer's face!
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 07:21 AM by alg0912
He also asked Wolf why they (the media) has been going easy on members of the Bush admin. Wolf said that he was briefed (by the admin) before the war and was convinced that Saddam had nuclear weapons, and quoted Condi Rice's "mushroom cloud" comments. Jon then reminded Wolf that our good friends in Pakistan was selling "mushroom cloud material" to every country BUT Iraq!

Jon then spun around in his chair, flailing his arms, saying, "Wooo! Crazy!"

10. Howard Fineman got eviscerated by Jon
That was hilarious how Fineman made all sorts of predictions and proclamations on how black people would think and react to Sharpton's speech. :D And Brian Williams--'a riff on whatever you were riffing on'--what an ignorant dumbass that man is.
