Kerry honored by Vietnam? Need to debunk
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 11:24 PM by coloradodem2004
Help me Debunk this.

Communist Vietnamese honor John Kerry, the war protestor, as a hero in their victory over the United States in the Vietnam War.
In the Vietnamese Communist War Remnants Museum (formerly known as the "War Crimes Museum") in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), a photograph of John Kerry hangs in a room dedicated to the anti-war activists who helped the Vietnamese Communists win the Vietnam War. The photograph shows Senator Kerry being greeted by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Comrade Do Muoi.

Jeffrey M. Epstein of Vietnam Vets for the Truth acquired the photograph over the Memorial Day weekend as America was commemorating its military heroes. Epstein's organization, Vietnam Vets for the Truth, issued a general request last week for photographs documenting Kerry's activities on behalf of the enemy. Bob Shirley, a Vietnam Swift Boat veteran (www.pcf45.com), sent the photograph to Epstein in response to that call. Shirley recently joined over 200 other Swift Boat veterans in signing an open letter questioning Kerry's fitness to serve as Commander-in-Chief.

1. And that video of Rummy with Saddam?
Or Bush with the Saudis? or his Grandaddy with the nazis?
Or Reagan helping the mujahedeen, Iran, Iraq, and the contras?

Who's really consorting with the enemy?

I don't like Kerry, but who cares if the commies honored him?

Al Qaeda has already endorsed Bush.

3. Why don't you ask them to prove it.
They are the ones making the ridiculouis claims. I never do understand why people perpetuate this garbage. You're helping to spread the manure. I guess I did too by replying to this nonsense.

13. I was trying to find a way to defend this.
Yes it is manure, and we are going to have to figure out how to deal with a lot of manure in the next 3 months. I am trying to figure out how to combat this.

15. I knew I shouldn't have let my aides brief me.
Should have read the whole thing. :) I didn't realize the basis for the smear was a bona fide peace mission on behalf of the US government. Funny how they turn that into something bad. DESPERATION.

16. Do you have an article that explains the truth?
To debunk this? I would like to give it to the person who gave me the one that I posted.

18. OK, here's some links. Pretty easy to find.
Among others to visit Vietnam:

Colin Powell - as Secretary of State
John McCain - with Kerry on behalf of government to normalize relations.
LTG Hal Moore - to visit & reconcile with NVA commanders who fought against his units.

http://servercc.oakton.edu/~wittman/chronol.htm

http://www.military.com/ContentFiles/WWS_leadstoryLF_022502

"General Moore agreed that the film was accurate especially in portraying the noise and the confusion on the battlefield. He praised also the way the movie showed inside the mind of the Vietnamese commander, General An, whom Moore had met several times while researching the book."

In LTG Moore's book, he describes how he an his NVA counterpart made peace and even became friends. "We Were Soldiers Once, And Young."

7. I don't know the context you need to debunk this in -
But the photos seem real, and it's not improbable that they're in the "War Crimes Museum".

Kerry's anti-war activism did help end the war - the right wingers who go for this kind of stuff see it as a betrayal - the rest of us, who know better, see it as the patriotic service it was.

normalize relations and research MIA's

the pic shows him meeting the Chairman of the communist Party (the head of state in other words)

big freaking deal! he went on a diplomatic mission and got his picture taken with the head of state which then was put in the war museum. all the tourist info on the museum is that it is actually an "anti war" musuem showing the horrors of war in that country

good grief! if that's all they have they are scraping

http://www.tinyvital.com/Misc/KerryHonoredByCommunists2.htm

Dan Tran also asked his Vietnamese associates to get a more precise wording of the placards under the photo. Below are the exact English, and French wordings.

Mr. Do Muoi, Secretary General of the Vietnam Communist Party met with Congressmen and Veterans Delegation in Vietnam (July 15-18, 1993)

9. A lot of military commanders have gone there too.
Including war hero and the writer of "We Were Soldiers Once And Young" - General Hal Moore. General Moore actually met with the NVA commander who fought against him and they reconciled! Ask the freeps if they consider General Moore and the other military people who have gone to NV to normalize relations and make amends as "commies."
- Maybe I shouldn't pay attention to these smears. They only will get worse, as will my blood pressure.

Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 01:10 AM by GTRMAN
Didn't Nixon like go to China and open up trade and get all chummy with them? They were combatants against us in the Korean war and all.
Now all these flag-waving capitalistas are running up and down the aisles of Wal-Mart buying shit made in communist China by slave labor.

Let them fucking chew on that shit for a while.

19. This is the same smear campaign they used against McCain
in 2000.

Kerry & McCain went together to Vietnam, on behalf of our gov to normalize relations. They also held hearings on missing MIAs, & tried to resolve these issues for MIA families with the North.

The amazing chutzpah of these criminals, is that when McCain was a POW, he was offerred early release over & over. His father was CINPAC, in charge of all Naval Ops in the Pacific. McCain would have been a #1 propaganda tool. Even though he almost died a few times, he turned down early release.

In 2000, this group said he was brainwashed, mentally unstable, a traitor, left POWs behind, etc.

If you want to know what they will do to Kerry, look up the 2000 crap.
It is the same crap, from the same crew, & if there is justice in the world, they will come to an unhappy end.

And to think they have done this on behalf of an AWOL chickenhawk deserter.
