3. makes him look conflicting on the Iraq issue
Like I said, a lot of it is just Republican spin if you break it down and look at it. However, these clips could not bode well in a 30-second spot, and we both know it.

5. So you post a GOP bought and paid for video here
Where the GOP got to do the splicing together about Kerry deciding what he is going to do on the Iraq issue. And you want DU to defend it and say "oh woe is us, we are so doomed, we are going to lose".

But perhaps you think we should support Bush in staying the course and sending our sons and daughters off to die in an invasion based on his lie.

Kerry decides based on facts, Bush is just a stubborn mule.

9. Oh yes, as if this is not the first time this has been posted at DU
these past couple of days. Just like the GOP bought and paid for Swift Boat "truth squad" story also being posted here many times.

Both these items have been posted here at DU over and over with the poster of the moment saying oh look at this, we are in big trouble now.

11. If you want to see the debunking of the swift boat
go to media matters. Brock even pointed out NYT debunked it weeks ago, and then ran the story again Friday without mentioning their own debunking. Following orders like the good little GOP water carrier the NYT is.

Kerry Campaign Response to Misleading Bush Video
Reporters received the latest attempt by the Bush-Cheney campaign to distract voters from its four years of failed policies and lack of a positive plan for the future. In an attempt to separate the truth from the fiction in Bush-Cheney's latest deliberately misleading attack, the Kerry campaign is providing this handy fact sheet to walk you through the distortions contained in their video.

“This video is nothing but a stale old attack from the Bush-Cheney campaign, who can’t for the life of them find anything positive to say. It comes from the same President that told us Saddam Hussein was tied to al Qaeda, that we’d be welcomed as liberators in Iraq, and that we wouldn’t be bearing the costs and casualties alone. Need any more reminders of why this administration’s lost its credibility?” - Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton.

12. A Big Lie?
"Saddam even gassed his own people!"

"Saddam used WMDs on his own people!"

Repeat a lie often enough and eventually most people will believe it.

INCIDENT #1
Having looked at all of the evidence that
was available to us, we find it impossible to
confirm the State Department’s claim that gas
was used in this instance. To begin with there
were never any victims produced. International
relief organizations who examined the Kurds --
in Turkey where they had gone for asylum --
failed to discover any. Nor were there ever any
found inside Iraq. The claim rests solely on
testimony of the Kurds who had crossed the border
into Turkey, where they were interviewed by
staffers of the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee.

INCIDENT #2
In March 1988, the Kurds at Halabjah were
bombarded with chemical weapons, producing a
great many deaths. Photographs of the Kurdish
victims were widely disseminated in the international
media. Iraq was blamed for the Halabjah attack,
even though it was subsequently brought out that
Iran too had used chemicals in this operation,
and it seemed likely that it was the Iranian
bombardment that had actually killed the Kurds.

13. Cherry picking...again.
It's the usual story from BushCo: hand-pick a lot of stuff that looks bad and spin it unfavorably.

Kerry has heard and said lots of things about Iraq and WMD because of his committee work in the Senate. He leaves behind a rich deposit of info-nuggets that Karl Rove can mine for damaging information. What they don't do is put any of it in its original context.

Having said that, it is going to do damage. Most voters won't spend the time to investigate the truth of these claims and will just go with their gut, which will be wrong.

I hate to admit it, but Kerry will have to go negative at some point if he's going beat these people. They have only one ethic: Win at all costs. Kerry had better be ready to sling it back at them.
