CNN report on Convention: "Scripted Spectacle"
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 02:43 AM by Must_B_Free
Here's the rundown of each moment of an hour show.

In the headlines they mentioned the convention as scripted and as a spectacle.

-Wolf and Judy talking about their new microphones for a long time.

-Talk about the Balloons not falling. No mention of profanity but an allusion to a "technical difficulty".

-Interview with two guys, a conservative looking guy and movie critic. The conservate guy had to admit that Kerry did well without getting into any details of what was said.

-Not one single soundbyte of anything Kerry said, or any of the speeches. Not one shed of a mention of the content or the message.

-EXCEPT: "The Worst moments of the speeches" "Here's an ealy speech with a guy who wasn't that exciting, and it was early, and no one was there yet..."

-The Hamster CPR - an investigation into whether it was even possible to give CPR to a hamster with the implicaton that Kerry's daughter is a liar.

-A turnaround of the Daily Show's montage of scripted right wing talking points with each of the reporters at the convention using the phrase "red meat".

-Two political cartoonists who make distorted faces of politicians like Kerry, Theresa and Bill Clinton.

They completely didn't say one single thing about anything said. Not as much as a soundbyte from anyone.

Unless you tuned in and watched, you don't have a clue what Kerry said.

And these people will probaby start saying that Kerry "Couldn't get his message out."

I wathed the channels for three hours and not a mention of Kerry. The other channels had

New Utah girl: Still Missing.
Pederson
Death Penalty

Looks like Kerry is a "scripted spectacle and a long faced Balloon clown" as far as Paula Zahn's show is concerned.

1. Thisi s why we have our work cut out for us
And why we can't take the election for granted. What will they say on the day of the election in swing states? You know they'll call for Bush and discourage people from voting if it's close.

SHOVE IT! - Drop Bush Not Bombs! - Hero Kerry AWOL Bush

2. CNN is Whore Media... Worse than FOX because at least
most know Fox is laughable. CNN is deceptive and is behind a vast right wing conspiracy to end the Democratic party.

Please Hit Them Hard!!!!

3. CNN is as news worthy as People magazine IMO
It's not worth my time anymore. Remember the good ol' days when it was more reporting and less editorializing?

5. Frankly, I'm not thrilled with any of the big three. They all suck.
I woke to Tweety doing some crap analyzing of "the speech"...talking about Kerry's face and constipation....WTF??? Gawd, they are replaying it now...west coast here. :puke:

It's C-span, the net or nothing.

I've written to these pukes before...doesn't seem to do any good...do you think so?

I guess we knew there would be fall out after the convention; it just hurts a bit more than I thought after coming down from such a high...

Gawwwwwd, it's going to be a long road to November... :hangover:

7. CNN's report on the repuke convention
will feature soundbytes from chimp's speech -- every line he didn't completely screw up. (Heavy editing will be required to make the speech intelligible.) A panel of rightwing shills including representatives from the Moonie Times and Wall St. Journal will call the speech "magnificent" and "Churchillian." Judy Woodruff and Wolf will nod in agreement that it was "The President's finest moment...a speech for the ages." " How can America deny this man a second term after hearing that great oratory?" will be the hard-hitting question posed by Candy Crowley.

The show will also feature Colin and Condi lying their asses off about the chimp's many accomplishments and touting his "increasing" support among African-Americans -- another bald-faced lie, but what the hell, they'll be on a roll.

A panel of ministers and at least one rabbi will be interviewed about the chimp's religious "values" and how they are "America's values."

A convention "highlights" tape will be played at the end over the credits featuring stirring patriotic music, lots of pictures of the chimp as a baby, and plenty of images of Ronald Reagan.

There won't be a Democrat in sight - except for Zell Miller - who, in the interest of "fairness" will be given the "last word" - which will be "This was a great convention - the best ever. Vote for Bush."

10. sadly, that's a good prediction
but, on the bright side, EVEN WITH the republican shills in the media, Kerry is still leading in the polls. Imagine if CNN and Fox were truly "fair and balance", how large the kerry lead would be?
