The only "intelligence" the US should believe comes straigt from OBL

Watching C-Span this am and heard at least three callers who seem to understand what appears to escape or renown leaders.

I haven't heard one Al-qaeda or other terrorist claim to "hate us for our freedom." I have heard and read that many of them have said they hate the US government for its blind support of Israeli policies toward the Palestinians and for having US military occupying or being present on what they regard as Islamic holy lands. A caller today quoted another of the reasons that these so-called "terrorist" have given for their actions: sanctions against Arab nations, especially Iraq, that have caused so much devastation to their people.

We continue to ascribe motives to our enemies that they do not ascribe to themselves and we ignore their pleas and motives at our own peril.
Until we acknowledge what they are saying to us, we will never be able to stamp out the terrorism that threatens to haunt us for the rest of our lives. We don't have to agree with what they tell us, but we must deal with what they tell us. We must have an honest discussion about this in our own country and among our own leaders. There will be various ways of dealing with the situation but we won't deal with the situation until will acknowledge that it exists. Until we do, no amount of money, bombs, and human lives will remove what we are facing. To ignore these issues and to work so ardently to keep the American people ignorant of these facts or distracted from them by hyping fear and hate is the greatest of human tragedies.
