Transmitting Bush*'s speeches and not Kerry's DONATION IN KIND AGAINST FEC
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 12:30 PM by LittleApple81
regulations? I am not sure but I sent this letter anyway.

My letter to MSNBC today (7/31) about Bush speeches coverage:

Your coverage of the presidential campaign - ARE YOU GOING TO COVER THE SPEECHES BY BOTH CANDIDATES????

I noticed today that you transmitted on TV BUSH'S SPEECH ON ITS ENTIRETY. Where are Kerry's speeches? I have not seen them.
If I notice this in your future coverage, I am going to start a campaign to protest against MSNBC for donating to the Republican campaign IN KIND ... The FEC should be looking into your performance directly. What is the cost of the time you are dedicating to Bush for FREE??? This is a huge amount of dollars that the Kerry campaign cannot compete with.

1. Media bias redux of 2000?
You've hit the nail on its head, LittleApple81!

We all must DEMAND that the networks give the Dems fair coverage.

On Friday's NBC Nightly "News," Tom Brokaw interviewed Kerry and Edwards, but Bush was shown giving a campaign speech, just as MSNBC did.

That way, Bush gets to make his points unchallenged, while Kerry and Edwards could be cross-examined. Brokaw's interview was reasonably fair in this case, but a pattern may be emerging.

When does Bush get interviewed? Bush flubbed his "Meet the Press" hour-long appearance big time, earlier this year. It was so bad that NBC refused to sell the permission to use a clip in a video, "Uncovered" as I recall. Yet, the broadcast had run on the public airwaves. Does NBC own Bush and the public airwaves?

In a democracy, everyone should be equal before the Law.

2. I wrote to the FCC also
I did this during the Clinton '96 election in re Chris Matthews. Wrote to several commissioners. Got a reply and the explanation about cable and ownership.

There is a way to bring attention to this through the FCC but I cannot find the process. I do remember that a public citizen can request all emails that are referenced to the complaint, in otherwards...find the evidence.

Anyway I am waiting for another reply from them.

3. Thanks for the reminder, I also send them an email and
sent a copy of my email to FAIR. Thought it would be good to let MSNBC know that FAIR may be interested in their unfair practice.
