I just saw a Berger retraction on CNN
It was about 20-30 seconds long. If you would have blinked you would have missed it. They said, in short, that no orginal documents ever left the National Archive and no charges will be filed against Berger. Is this the most unbelievable thing in the world? Something has to be done about the liberal media!

2. wouldn't it be nice if
the way the Berger story was treated becomes, in and of itself, an indictment for the 'liberal' media?

3. Well, I'm sure they'll play up the retraction
I'm sure they'll play up the retraction with the same vigor with which they aired the original preposterous allegations.

Uh oh, better stand up if monkeys are going to come flying out of my butt.

5. THE ONLY LENGTHY coverage was Keith Olbermann (Countdown)
last night. And he even said: "and Tom DeLay is not apologizing for calling him a common burglar."

8. CNN's convention coverage was to the right of Fox

The whores are showing their true colors, PBS out rated CNN, Fox & msnbc COMBINED.

Cable news ratings are all down something like 30% or more just in the last year, no one believes their lies any more and the public is turning to other sources for news.

Just turn them OFF!

9. It's not a retraction.
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 01:17 PM by UdoKier
The story was reported accurately - that Berger was being investigated. The way it was presented and exaggerated and the timing was totally unethical, but the original reporting was not factually wrong.

Berger was cleared of all wrongdoing. They are reporting that fact now. That's not the same as a retraction.

11. I beg to differ
CNN reported that Berger had stuffed documents down his socks and unless I missed something, them saying that he's not going to face charges sounds like they are retracting, at least, the sock stuffing. Their reporting was definitely unethical, but I believe it was also factually incorrect.

10. The biggest question of all--
Where does Berger go to get his Reputation back???

This is what is so sickening about our Media--anything will e thrown out as gospel truth with no concern that in the end it may not be true and a person life can be ruined.

The way the Berger story was presented-My Gawd, you would think khe would end up behind bars.
