Can Rove get away with it again (swiftboatvetsfortruth)
We all know what these guys are and who they work for. But does everyone else? We all know they are the same assholes that trashed McCain and Cleland in 2000 and 2002. They clearly have no problem destroying the image of a a fellow Vietnam veteran for political purposes. I think the best way to damage their credibility is to start emailing and informing everyone you know that could possibily be undecided and inform them of what they did in 2000 and 2002. Just my thoughts, but these guys really bother me and I find what they do absolutely disgusting.

1. I think that the issue actually helps Kerry
It's insane for the * camp to keep reminding people of the difference between the military careers of Kerry and * They should have dropped it long ago.

I think that most Americans recognize these weirdos for who they are. They've gotten too much publicity to be effective anymore. The only people who still believe them are knee-jerk * supporters.

The lies and push polls worked against McCain and Cleland because they were sneak attacks that happened quickly in state primaries and elections. Voters didn't have time to learn the truth before they voted.

I look for sneak attacks to come from Rove against Kerry very close to the election. There will be a "shocking" revelation about Kerry - a sex scandal, a petty theft, something - that will be dumped on the news in late October.

I hope that Kerry's camp is ready for it. I think they probably will be.

2. Remind people that the head of this Republican party created
organization was a patsy for Nixon when Kerry headed Vietnam Veterans against the war.

The head of swift boat liars for Bush is a Republican hatchet-man plain and simple.

3. There's a website that shows the sponsors of those groups
Saw it on C-SPAN yesterday but I can't remember the name.

4. I think it worked with McCain because the Party wanted the shrub!
And, remember, they did that trashing in a few states, not the whole country! Same thing with Max in Ga. It was one state.

I'm sure they'll try! But I remember what my reaction was to the automated phone call from "Barbara Bush" the day before election day in 2000. It's probably a good thing it was an auto call...they wouldn't have liked the language I used in my response!

I think that's what's going to happen Nationally when they try that stuff with Kerry. Sure, it will work with some, but I suspect the ones who will buy it are already in their camp anyway.

6. Well, it is good that you don't think they will get away
with it, but it still disgusts me that they are even trying.

There are all kinds of other issues I wouldn't have a problem with them attacking him on, but his honorable Vietnam service should be off limits. The guy earned one of the top awards the military offers. Go find something else, Rove.

The Republican party is now the party of hate.

7. I don't want to sound disrespectful, but Kerry did march against
the "nam war when he came home. I have no problem with that. He and I are the same age, so I remember why it was done, and the context of the Country back then, but those old clips kinda opened the door to all that criticism.

I think Kerry is handeling it very well, and it will all move on to another subject. One that will pi** us off just as much.

5. Does anyone have a link for a good article exposing this smear?
A very good friend of mine actually believes this. She likes to think of herself as neither Republican nor Democrat, but her husband is a Repug. He has her swallowing this hook, line, and sinker.

I hate to see her fall for this crap! Help!
