Terrorist attack on US soil - 7/30/2004
Odd that this isn't huge news, odder there's no comments at DU - our Embassy in Uzbekistan has been attacked by a car bomb:

It's perhaps not surprising that BushCo can get away with claiming "No terrorist attack on US since 9/11/2001" - we've had the Senate office building attacked with WMD, the same for the publisher in FL, a broad area around DC was terrorized for weeks as was a strip of highway in OH, weekly attacks on the US Embassy in Iraq since Iraq became "fully sovereign", and now this. Did I miss anything?

That already is the worst record for terrorist attacks on US soil of any president - even if you don't count 9/11. We shouldn't let them get away with such blatant lies. As far as blaming 9/11 on years of unanswered attacks, here are the unanswered attacks on Americans I know of which happened on Busah's watch before 9/11:

January 29, 2001: An office of the US form Newmont Mining Corporation was bombed in Indonesia.

February 17, 2001: A bomb was found and defused at a McDonald's restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey.

March 27, 2001: In Somalia, terrorists attacked a Doctors without Borders facility, killing 11, wounding 40 others, and kidnapping nine. One of the nine was a US citizen, unknown whether US citizens were among the dead or wounded.

April 3, 2001: Two World Food Program vehicles were ambushed in Burundi, wounding four persons, including a US citizen.

April 22, 2001: Chechen rebels held 120 people, including Americans, hostage in an Istanbul hotel.

May 5, 2001: A US physician in Saudi Arabia was severely wounded by a letter bomb.

May 9, 2001: Two teens were stoned to death in the West Bank. One was a US citizen.

May 26, 2001: The Islamic terror group AbuSayyaf kidnapped 20 persons, including three US citizens, in the Philippines. The kidnappers later killed one of the American hostages.

May 29, 2001: The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for an attack on a vehicle in the West Bank, killing two, one of them an American. Two other Americans were injured in the attack.

June 16, 2001: In Tajikistan, 15Êemployees of a German humanitarian group, including a US citizen were kidnapped by an opposition group.

August 9, 2001: 15 people, including two US citizens are killed by a suicide bomber in Jerusalem.

September 1, 2001: In Uganda, a vehicle of the US Group Catholic Relief Services was attacked killing five and wounding two.

And two more within the few weeks leading up to Bush's ascension to the Oval office:

January 3, 2001: An airliner with the US Ambassador to Yemin was hijacked.

January 9, 2001: Kenneth Gluck, a US citizen and head of Doctors Without Borders in Chechnya was kidnapped and held by Chechen rebels for nearly a month.

1. YOU ARE RIGHT... an embassy is the country's territory. I have
a friend who wanted to divorce her husband... he was the ambassador to Europe for a very conservative country where divorce was forbidden... and she could not ask for it in that country because she and her husband did not fall under their laws but those of their own country.
