Castro hopes God doesn't tell Bush to attack Cuba!
The Pathology of George Bush
By FIDEL CASTRO

<snip>

"Let's hope that, in Cuba's case, God does not 'instruct' Mr. Bush to attack our country but that he rather inspires him to avoid this colossal mistake! He had better check on any divine belligerent order by consulting the Pope and other prestigious dignitaries and theologians from the Christian churches, asking them for their opinion

Excuse me, Mr. President of the United States of America, for not writing a third epistle to you this time..." <snip>

1. Well, I Guess We Agree Then
There is no love lost here for Castro, but I have to agree with him on this one. I too pray that God does not tell W. to attack Cuba or anyone else.

2. No fan of Castro here, but he has every reason to be suspicious of Bush Jr
40 years of family history suggests that Junior would take the shot at Cuba if it were convenient enough. Like Iraq, it would be partially about completing Poppy's unfinished business, the Bay of Pigs in this case.

5. Add to that the possibility of oil in their
coastal waters and I would say Castro does have something to fear.

3. Not to worry. Shrub and his Dick have learned their lesson.
Next time he'll go after something a little less troublesome. Like, say, Rhode Island.

Spain strikes oil near coast of Cuba
By Vanessa Bauzá
HAVANA BUREAU
Posted July 30 2004

HAVANA · A Spanish company's search for oil off Cuban shores has yielded signs that high-quality petroleum is in the area, but the oil found so far is not commercially viable.

Repsol YPF'S mixed findings, announced on Thursday, deflated some hopes in Havana that a major new oil reserve might be tapped 25 miles off Cuba's northwest corner. Such a finding could solve Cuba's long-standing energy crisis and boost its faltering, post-Soviet economic recovery.Although Repsol's drilling has ceased for the moment, it will continue prospecting off Cuba's shores. Other companies, including Canada's Sherritt International and Brazil's state oil company Petrobras, are keeping a close eye on Repsol's findings.

Oil industry analysts and foreign investors said it was too early to speculate on how the early findings would affect future oil prospects in Cuba.

8. To Bush, God and Exxon are one in the same.
Both donate to Republican causes and offer advice.

9. I thought Spain got driven out of new world?
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 04:11 PM by Generic Other
Will we invoke the Monroe Doctrine and the Bush Policy to pre-emptively strike to take the oil? Using the 10 Commandments as our Legal Strategy?

on edit: Didn't God tell George not to covet Castro's ass?

10. Sorry, we already the Spanish American war.
Of course, that too was in response to a terrorist bombing. And, we didn't have any Imperialist designs. We "liberated" Cuba and the Phillipines to establish democracy and give them the benefits of a "free market" with the help of the Mafia and United Fruit.
