ASHINGTON, July 31 — President Bush's campaign plans to use the normally quiet month of August for a vigorous drive to undercut John Kerry by turning attention away from his record in Vietnam to what they described as an undistinguished and left-leaning record in the Senate.

Mr. Bush's advisers plan to cap the month at the Republican convention in New York, which they said would feature Mr. Kerry as an object of humor and calculated derision.

.....................................................

it's in the new york times to it 'must' be true right? once again, they are going nasty and brutal and employing the power of ridicule on Kerry.

the gall of rove the master strategist, making a mockery of a man like Kerry when he works for a man who:
can't ride a fucking bicycle
can't eat a fucking pretzel without damn near killing himself
can't ride a horse.
can't ride a fucking segway
can't speak fucking english
can't look anything but stupid and apelike
who's groin was attacked by a terrorist turkey
picks his nose in a crowded auditorium
smiles when he kills people
lied a thousand soldiers into their graves
never attended a soldier's funeral
hides the caskets of the dead soldiers
orders prisoners of war tortured
robbed the treasury
lied about weapons of mass destruction
lied about osama and wanting him dead or alive
knew nine eleven was coming and went on vacation and DIDN'T
FUCKING BOTHER TO TELL US.
had a female c.i.a. agent's cover blown for revenge
lies every single fucking time he speaks
hides the 2000 mutilated soldiers who he lied to
made the whole world hate america
made us all the target of insane terrorists
rules by fear and lies and brute force

now, they plan on making Kerry a figure of humor and derision?
gimmee a big fucking break.

1. Hope the allies like
MoveOn and True Majority are ready to dish out the TRUTH about Bush. I say every time the Repukes mock Kerry, we come out with FACTS about how Bush has messed up everything he's ever had his hands on.

3. Humor and calculated derision?
The only humorous aspect will be to see what pathetic lengths Rove will go to in his campaign of desperation.

4. A lot of people will be turned off by this, I think.

An incumbent running a negative campaign looks like what he is -- desperate.

8. yes, they better be careful
I think if they get too carried away slamming Kerry, they are opening the door for the full-fledge hammer to come down on them. They think we went negative during the primaries. If they get too personal about Kerry during the next few months, we are going to take the gloves off and hit them with everything we have. (see list above) As Wes Clark said during his speech at the convention, "enough is enough!"

5. It's worked for them since Reagan vs Carter............
Why should they change now? I guess we could get one of those "laugh boxes" and play it over a text that shows $450 billion deficits, 900 dead Americans in Iraq, a $280 billion surplus disappeared, 2 million jobs lost, disrespected around the world, and lies to invade another country....and have the "laugh track" just hilariously falling down laughing... then

THEY THINK IT'S FUNNY - DEMOCRATS DO NOT THINK IT IS A LAUGHING MATTER!

11. Exactly
They'll get away with it because they can. The late Vince Foster sagely called politics a "blood sport" and one that too many people tolerate. I reached my saturation point years ago. Leadership and statesmanship require more than who can come up with the best slap-down. If we as citizens don't demand the end to this garbage-well, we get what and whom we deserve.

Was when he was on David Letterman and used that woman's jacket to clean his freakin glasses on,with a camera on him that captured the whole thing. That bastard is about the most uncouth idiot I've ever seen. No manners,no brains.

LOOKS FUCKING STUPID IN EVERY PHOTO TAKEN OF HIM

*dauphin is the emblem of what rubes and simpletons Americans are taken for by the "shadow gub'mint" that controls and handles him and them.

9. Bush thinks Kerry's investigations into BCCI and IranContra were FUNNY?
Edited on Sat Jul-31-04 05:31 PM by blm
Let's join in the laughs and bring up how Kerry's BCCI investigation uncovered Bush's deal arranged by his drugbuddy James Bath where he sold his Harken shares to Salem Bin Laden.

Or how Kerry's investigations forced the CLOSURE of BCCI.

Let's joke about all the pardons Poppy Bush had to give out to cover up the crimes against the Constitution he committed in IranContra which were uncovered thanks to the investigations initiated by John Kerry.

Have at it, fratboy. BRING IT ON!

HARDEEHARHAR.

12. It may backfire on them
Both the Dems and the Repugs are going after a small percent of undecided voters. If their convention is based on featuring John Kerry as an object of humor and derision, that may just turn off the undecideds. We can only hope.

Oh goody, goody, goody. I thought they might actually try to have a plan or something!! That's what they said yesterday, they were going to present Bush's platform for the next 4 years. Flip-flop, flip-flop.

The only thing in Kerry's record that can be "troubling" at all is the 1991 war vote. The rest of his record shows him fighting these political wedge issues that Congress has been wasting time on instead of doing the people's business.

And, it's the OLYMPICS!! America isn't going to want to feel bad during the Olympics.

This isn't going to work at all.
