(Reuters) Kerry Mocks Bush's Campaign Slogan
GREENSBURG Pa. - Democratic White House challenger John Kerry mocked president Bush's new "turning the corner" campaign slogan on Saturday and said he offered voters more than "itsy bitsy" sound bites.

"Yesterday the president siad to Americans that we were turning the corner, referring to the economy," Kerry said in Greensburg. "Well, let me ask you, if you're one of those 44 million Americans that don't have health insurance are you turning the corner? If you're one of those people who has a job...that's been forced overseas, are we turning the corner for those folks?"

But Kerry drew a parallel between Bush and Herbert Hoover, who as president during the Great Depression presided over an economy that experienced the biggest job loss in U.S. history.

"The last time we had a president who ran on a slogan of turning the corner was Herbert Hoover, and he ran on the prospect that prosperity was just around the corner," Kerry said. "I don't want to run talking about turning the corner. I'm running to climb the mountain and get to the top."

2. Somehow
I don't think this negative-campaign truce is going to last long with the Bush camp- you know Rove is salivating at the chance to have * go on the attack...

The American public overwhelmingly hates negative campaigning. Kerry is taking the high road, and it WILL pay off.

10. It gets even better. Kerry knows how to deliver negative attacks with a
tone and choice of words that makes it seem as though he's just being factual.

3. When Kerry does it, the verb is "mocks." When Bush does it
the verb is "says."

13. Rove thinks the tactics he used on
McCain, Cleland, and Dukakis will work on Kerry. He'll quickly learn Kerry fights back. Hard.

16. Kerry has Rove's number
Kerry's entire campaign has been designed to counter any nonsense the quickly fading "Boy Genius" has in his arsenal.

Karl Rove's abilities can ony go so far. He is now working with a failed president and a confirmed liar. It is kind of putting a crimp in his style.

A flag on a Democrat's car or house is like a cross to Dracula to dittomonkeys. Wave it high, wave it proud, and watch the right melt like one of Dorothy's wicked witches.

15. Generally, I like the "Bush is running a sound bite campaign" because
it's true.

The headline writer for Reuters, AP and Yahoo may look for a different angle in their presentation, but Kerry's point is that the RNC is basically repeating a series of sound bites...

There is no "there" there.
