I mean, be fuckin' realistic people, RUSS FEINGOLD>YOUR SENATOR. Barack can be his VP. Russ will be 59 in 2012. The guy needs to be in the White House at least once in his life.

9. You're excused.
I think Dean was a poor presidential candidate, and the voters backed me up. He's just a typical middle-of-the-road politician who managed to make some news with his anti-war stand: yet the stand was bogus. He was FOR a war resolution, just a slightly different one. His environmental policy sucked, and his ideas on open government were even worse. He also was incredibly unappealing to the vast majority of voters.

I think he'd be great as chair of the DNC. But he's not suitable for elected office outside an all-white, centrist, tiny state.

4. A Jew and a Black?
Can you see the GOP reactionay's heads exploding in that happens? Being Jewish, I would love Feingold as well. Barack would make a great running mate for one simple reason:

This country isn't ready for a Black man to become President. Feingold is Jewish, but at least he's white. As sad as this is because there are amply qualified black candidates for high public official (save Clarence Thomas, J.C. Watts and Walter Williams), I just don't see it happening any time soon.

A woman has a better chance to win the Presidency than a black man in the tenor of these political time. And you don't know how hard that was for me to write, because I don't want to believe this country would consider race or sex, but it will and it's used other exterior litmus tests on PResidential candidates.

1960, we elected our first Catholic.

I would love Barack, Hillary or Feingold, but I doubt they are electable (except maybe Hillary).

5. Being "electable" is actually one of his strongest features
Not only can one point to him as the most liberal member in the Senate, but also the most efficient when it comes to taxpayer dollars. I think he'd appeal to lots of libertarian-leaning people.

8. My Opinion...
...is that I won't live to see a black president, but that I will to see a woman (I'm 49). I think that the younger people (20's) will see a black president. Maybe he'll be my son (he's 4 now!)!

10. I disagree...
I'm 43 and I believe Obama will be our President within 24 years.

12. I hope you're wrong...
and I hope to at least see a serious black candidate in my lifetime. I'm 56.

We've gotten to the point where being a Jew or a Catholic is hardly even mentioned. Nowadays, race and gender are becoming far less polarizing than they ever were, even though we have a way to go. Hispanics, women... all OK.

Muslims and homosexuals are the victims now. When the first black Muslim lesbian gets into Congress, we'll know we're there.

13. You couldn't be even more in the minority than if you were a
Jewish, black, crippled, woman of Yemeni descent. :)

6. You think Feingold would ever be Edwards VP?
It will be Edwards VP that will become our candidate and my guess is that will be Obama.
