Without security what the hell platform does shrub run on?
-snip--

Both Republican and Democratic strategists have begun adjusting their plans for what they once viewed as unthinkable: that Bush’s handling of national security in general, and the war in Iraq in particular, could become a vulnerability rather than an asset in his reelection race.

One presidential adviser said the suicide attacks hours apart in Iraq and Israel, which undermined the two anchors of Bush’s ambitious effort to transform the Middle East, made Tuesday “by far the worst political day for Bush since 9/11.”

6. The worst political day for Bush since 9/11, was it?
What bullshit. 9/11 was the best day of Bush's political life, and he even admits it. He hit the trifecta, remember?

7. Here is what he will run on
1. The gay marriage ban
2. The fact that the war is not done, that Syria and Iran and North Korea all continue to be threats and that Bush is the only person willing to take them on
3. Abortion restrictions. They will come in the heat of the election. See what his brother is doing with a mentally retarded rape victim in Florida to see what is coming nationally. He will continue to back efforts to give fetuses legal rights in a continuation of the right's new approach.
4. He will run as a centrist, trying to portray Dean (the eventual nominee) as too leftist, and that his pacifism is dangerous.
5. Tax cuts. He will continue to twist economic data to show improvements related to tax cuts, and that a few more will really help us out of the recession.
6. He will spin Iraq. He will say that the international community did not back us, but we went in and won the war anyway. As for all of the 'terrorists' in Iraq? Side benefit, they will say. Bremer yesterday said he would rather fight them in Iraq than in NY. This will continue to be their line. That they are fighting preemptive battles that we may never know have protected us.
7. Prescription Drug Benefit. Bush will pass some drastic medicare cut disguised as a privitization and expansion of benefits. He will call it something along the lines of a prescription drug benefit, but just like his last attempt, it will be to destroy medicare and force Americans to either go to private insurers or go without.

This is what he will run on, and he will win if Dean is not nominated. All of the other candidates are Bush lite.

8. Quite simple
President Stupidhead will run on a platform of $200 million.

And with the media buys that will enable him to make, he and his backers will try to gull a majority of the voters who go to the polls, depress turnout in other places, try to dupe folks into thinking his re-selection is a done deal, and disparage any attempt to unseat him as unpatriotic and not supportive of the troops.
