So when FAUX says "It's Miller Time" to promote Dennis Miller
are they stealing from the Miller Brewing Company? Isn't that a trademark of Millers?

4. Also note that MSNBC's Scarborough Country
is stealing the recognition of the Marlboro Country ad campaign. In fact, on the show earlier this year they were advocating laws that banned indoor smoking in NYC. This would be a dillution of brand and an attempt to confuse consumers while trading on the percieved public familiarity, would it not?

8. Huh? Why not Montana? Big Sky Country.
The point is that FAUX is suing Franken over the "Fair and Balanced" thing.

12. Miller Time
When Laura Miller ran for Dallas mayor, her unofficial slogan was "it's Miller Time!"

Her campaign actually received a cease and desist letter from the Miller brewers.

Of course, she was a Democrat so she has to be held accountable while Faux may do whatever it pleases.

14. Exactly.
Miller is part of the Altria Group (Philip Morris tobacco), bigtime RW donors. They won't care. The double standard is rich, though.

16. FOX TV ran a promo for the Dennis Miller commentary that he
does on Friday nights. The promo said "It's Miller Time." They have some blond woman who does these little spots promoting their shows. I'm trying to pay attention to see it come up again and record it. Ugh!

18. If there were some sort of link on the internet for this, I'd love it.
We may want to write about this, and it would be helpful to have some concrete evidence to provide our audience.

20. It was just on again - 2:50 Central Time
They are advertising for Hannity and Colmes and the announcer said, "It's Miller Time on Hannity and Colmes." I taped it but I can't see how it would get on the internet. Check it out in another hour.

21. Hmmm.
Do they put that text on the screen? If so, and if you had a digital camera, you could photograph it.

Just an idea. Don't know if it's possible.

24. It's not on the screen - it's their announcer guy who does most of their
promos. He says it. I played it back and he keeps saying the same thing, "It's Miller Time on Hannity and Colmes."

19. You know who does this all the time? Fundies.
Next time you're at your local clinic hit or whatever, check out the fundies' oh-so-clever T-shirts.

"This Blood's For You".

"Jesus -- The Choice of the LAST Generation". (with suitably swirled Pepsi-like logo)

"God's Gym".

I often mused that their religion seemed to mean no more to them than just another brand name, but I never thought about trademark infringement -- 'til now, anyway...

25. Just sent this email to Franken's publisher
Apparently Fox has been using the slogan "It's Miller Time" to promote that trully "unfunny", "shrieking", brainless biped known as Dennis Miller on their network...Seems to me that if we apply the same rules of their lawsuit someone at Miller Brewing company should be contacting Fox news with a 10 page commercial for it's products that passes for a lawsuit...

I hope this helps...(not that I'm sure you didn't already know this information)

Regards,
An Al Franken book owner and loyal fan.

I hope they bring this up in court...
