John Kerry says he would have got up on 9/11 if he was in Bush's place
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 09:11 AM by JI7
Kerry was asked what he would do if he was in Bush's place on 9/11 in a classroom with kids. kerry said he would have told the kids he has presidential duties to attend to and got up right away.

he is on CNN right now at some event where minority journalists ask questions. and he got applause and cheers when he said he would have got up immediately if he was told america was under attack.

1. A Great Contrast To Bunnypants...
Whomever scheduled Kerry to get up and speak right at the same time as his assholiness is a genius. Frumm? Cahill? The contrast in styles and forums is startling.

I hope others are watching!!

2. It's on C-Span 2 too.
I heard it. It just made me even madder to think that Bush was told America was under attack and he just sat there looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

6. Now, see, here's a statesman
It is possible to excuse oneself from a group of 7-year-olds without scaring them or panicking the country.

Presidential aide (whispering): "Mr. President, the second tower has just been hit. America is under attack."

President: (nods, aide leaves) "Children, please excuse me. I am needed out in the hallway." (gets up calmly, leaves room)

How many teachers say that every day? My first-grade teacher would routinely step out in the hall -- "I need to speak with the principal out in the hallway for a minute. Excuse me, please." This does not panic schoolchildren.

7. Won't it be nice
to have an articulate president again?

A president who can think on his feet and can answer questions directly.

8. CNN cut away when Kerry spoke about media consolidation!
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 09:18 AM by Newsjock
Kerry took a question about media consolidation, he said he opposed it, and within a minute, CNN cut away to go to "breaking news" about the hours-old Albany mosque raid.

This, class, is what control of the media is all about. Bastards.

13. I refuse to believe that Card told him what the reports say...
it was probably more like "the game plan is under way...don't you budge till you're told to."

16. Any SANE man, any man NOT STAGED for a photo op, would get up
That Bush didn't get up is, in my opinion, THE MOST TELLING thing this man ever 'did' (actually 'did not do'). He didn't react. He didn't respond. He didn't DO anything. He just SAT THERE as America was "under attack." It apparently never even OCCCURED to him that AS PRESIDENT there was anything he COULD DO let alone should do. He didn't even ACT Presidential. The man is NOTHING BUT A STAGE PROP--A PLASTIC TURKEY FOR AMERICA given to us to worship and argue over by the real Powers That Be behind the scenes.

What a STUPD SoB. No guts. No shame. No nothn' know-nothn'.

18. See, here's the sad thing about that.
WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE TO ASK THIS QUESTION?

Sorry about the caps. But really, for Kerry to say "if I were told the country was under attack, I would get up and go do something about it," I mean that's like a guy saying, "I am a carbon based life form." I mean it's a frigging NO-BRAINER. It should not surprise anyone to hear that. And yet, we're all going, "Woohoo! What a great, strong leader Kerry will be!"

I'm not saying he won't be. I'm just saying it shows you how far we have sunk--that we're psyched to hear our next president won't respond to the next crisis he faces by sitting on his ass. This didn't use to be the kind of thing that presidential contests turned on.

Alas,

The Plaid Adder

20. I'm glad they are asking.
It gets Bush's non-actions back in the spotlight.

Does anyone know if Bush's speech to this group is going to be broadcast tomorrow? I'd love it if he were asked the same question.
