Kerry's criticism of *'s 9/11 classroom paralysis doesn't hold much weight |
|
We all know that Bush royally fucked up that morning, but it doesn't seem like a very smart move for Kerry to critize him for it. It's one thing to criticize things he's done that Kerry himself will likely run into as President, but I doubt Kerry will be sitting in very classrooms being notified of a terrorist attack. Sure, he'll visit some classrooms, and thanks to Bush's enormous "success" in making us safer there's a good chance that he'll be notified of an attack at least once. But the chances of those things happening at the same time again are probably infinitely minute.
Before you flame me for suggesting Kerry made a campaign faux pas, I just think that Kerry should stick to condemning the bad decisions Bush made when they're ones he'll likely have to make himself as President.
Plus, Michael Moore already did a good enough job of exposing Bush as the spineless fucking coward that he was that morning. For Kerry to repeat it just seems like a waste of time that could be spent on much more important things.
FLAME ON!!:nuke:

9. Yes, was asked a question... |
|
Kerry was responding to a direct question. Also, some republicans have been asked the same question. On Bill Mahers (sp?) show on HBO he asked a repuke (Rep Drier) what he would have done if he were in that classroom as President...He had no answer and lost his top.
So that's a question a lot of politicians are going to have to answer over the next few months...

you're taking that so literally, it's absurd. He's obviously talking about the ability to make decisions, and even more important, forcing further attention on an extremely embarrassing moment for Bush, which the media is doing all they can do to ignore.

14. In the article on CNN.com it makes no mention that Kerry |
|
was answering a question. I know that CNN isn't averse to leaving out small details, but from that article it sounds like Kerry brought up the issue himself.
And if he was talking about the ability of a president to make quick decisions, why didn't he pick an issue that not many people know about? Bush has given Kerry a goldmine of things to criticize him for, and for Kerry to pick one that Michael Moore has already slammed out of the park seems like a bad move.
Maybe it's just me, but out of all the stupid things Bush has done as President, this one seems rather played.

Me, I couldn't believe what that ass did or, rather, didn't do on the day.
My state and city are Republican run and THOSE Republicans did the job. They worked, they didn't run. George sat. Then George ran.
Anyone who believes otherwise wasn't there, and wasn't paying attention.

That's how they've gotten the "$87 Billion Flip Flop" to stick.
That and the entire US hasn't seen Bush's Deer in the headlights performance. Hell, better than 1/2 of the paople probably don't even know about it. Look at how few people even knew Kerry went to Vietnam.
We need to start using their tactics. Joe Trippi and a republican campaign consultant were on hardball and both said that negatives work.

19. This is Bush's Achilles' heel... |
|
Even the most rabid Bush supporter must wonder about this...
We all know the story. At best, Bush is a incompetent coward. Worse, he knew something was going to happen and when it did, he sat still for further "orders."
He certainly did not display "leadership." Sure, Michael Moore did an excellent job of exposing this in "F9/11" but it needs to be repeated over and over to counter the "Bush acts decisively" meme.
I can't see how this will create sympathy for Bush from the average American.

If Bush was informed that Crown Prince Abdullah or Prince Bandar bin Sultan was on the phone, would he have left them sitting on the phone for seven minutes?
Also, I don't understand why no one is asking why Bush didn't ask WHAT the attack was. It could have been anything.

Card is telling him about the SECOND plane! The first one hit before he ever went into the photo op.
So none of them do anything to vary their schedule for about 45 minutes. In spite of the fact that they got a memo...

down in flames was a pretty big mistake? If he had acted and declared a national emergency, at the very least the people in the Petagon would have been saved and probably a lot of the people in the 2nd tower would have gotten out rather been told to return to their desks. He failed miserably on that day and he should be held accountable for his non-action.

I'm reminded of something out of "Primary Colors," when an aide to the Clinton character says during a Democratic primary debate, "There's only one President up there." Bush may occupy the White House, but there's only one President in this contest.

Bush was absolutely correct to finish the reading of the children's book "My Pet Goat" when Andy Card whispered in his ear "America is under attack".
After all, this President reads so little, he just wanted to see how the book turned out.

My daughter informed me that a plane had hit one of the twin towers. Just one. A small plane. Woke me up to tell me. After about 2 minutes, from a sound sleep, I realized something wasn't right about that. Now I'm not even responsible for the defense of the country and I recognized something wasn't right. Kerry said he knew something wasn't right because of the weather conditions. Just no way somebody could accidentally hit the WTC. Bush? "one bad pilot". Is this really the kind of President we would want? By the time the second plane hit, everybody knew it was an attack. Any one of us, if we were the President, would have excused themself from that classroom. John Kerry has already proven he knows what to do when under attack, he proved it over and over again in Vietnam. You bet it's an issue. Not a LIHOP issue, a CiC issue.
