Has anyone been harrassed over their bumper stickers.
At a place where I go regularly, some lady in an SUV keeps parking me in. I'll go to her while she's still in her car and ask her to move a couple of feet (and she always has room) so I can get out. Instead, she'll just get out of her car and go off and do something. Technically it's false imprisonment. At first I just thought she was really rude. But now I'm thinking that maybe it's because of my Kucinich stickers.

4. Sticker troubles
I had my Kerry sticker torn off at Mall of America. My mom had her car keyed when she had a "Vote Democratic" sticker on her bumper.

3. Aside from a few leering glances or the rare flipoff as they pass me.
No, haven't had any problems. Which surprises me cuz I live in and near some of the repukiest counties in IA and have half dozen or so stickers on my car.

ha ha call a tow truck and tell em your SUV is broken and have it towed to the local dealer to be fixed

(yeah yeah I know it wouldn't really work if you don't hold the keys)

6. If I put one on my truck, I'll be evicted.
My landlord is an insane repug who has in the past, evicted tenants for their political beliefs.

11. I wore my "worst president ever" shirt
yesterday, all over my small Maine town that is full of tourists at this time of the year.

I wore it to the library and I wore it to Main
street and I wore it in the bank as well as to several shops and the supermarket.
'
I got comments from--believe it or not--YOUNG PEOPLE! I encouraged them to vote--those who told me that they liked my shirt assured me they will be voting.
'
(I also told them they could order one from DU and turned around and gave them the URL to order one from Democratic Underground.

Older folks read the shirt and then looked embarrassed. I kid you not. They did not know what to make of it?

No one challenged me.

16. Register those young people
They are the key. Get yourself some registration forms, print the local addresses to send them to on the back (or on a separate sheet), and get commitments.

NOW is the time!

12. not really harrassed
just people who make a big show of speeding up to get beside me (usually driving some big hunkin' u.a.v.) so they can shake their head in disgust. not sure if it because of my kerry sticker, though, i also have an h.r.c. symbol sticker and a silver om symbol. so i never know if they're homo-phobes, uber-xtians or repukes... probably all 3!

15. Yes, I've been harrassed...
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 05:27 PM by devilgrrl
One guy road raged me over my DU sticker and had another sticker damaged with a utility knife ruining my paint job.

Further proof that conservatism caters to the basest elements of society.

17. I think I have the only bumper sticker in the Charlotte area
I live about 30 minutes outside Charlotte and drove over there Saturday ... in the entire time driving there and driving back (on a busy interstate), driving a little bit in town, I only saw one other political bumper sticker (it was for Kerry) ... I've had absolutely no reaction, positive or negative toward mine in the week or so I've had it ... I have to check from time to time to make sure it's still on there

18. All I need is harrassment for a bumper sticker....
That's why I don't have one. Call me wuss, but I have enough to deal with. All I need is some ignorant Freeper giving me shit for my political beliefs and they don't even know me. Besides, I don't feel the need to wear my politics on my sleeve, at least in that way, but support people who do, with one exception....

If it's supports *. I know it's hypocritical, but I can't help automatically thinking of anyone sporting a slogan that supports Bush as ignorant. But that doesn't mean I would flip them off, key or ding their car. Lord knows I can't afford that happening to me.

Although I did think about getting up in the middle of the night and defacing any Bush/Cheney2004 bumper stickers on any car in my neighbor with a nice swastika, but I would never do it even though it would cause no permanent damage to a car, all they would have to do is take the bumper sticker off their car, which is really the goal, but hopefully driving around for a while before noticing:).
