He's good buddies with Kerry, but that doesn't clear him in my book.
He was a perpetual Clinton hatchet man...who made lots of money as part of the politics of personal resentment.
He could do me a favor if he just went far, far away.

The only problem though, would be that he is an educated person who speaks in complete sentences...and does not froth at the mouth and spray his guests with spittle...
I could envision a show with his as host...following Olberman...a show with one or two guests..and having them complete thoughts...none of that "..we're outta time..15 seconds..." crap..:)
We can hope..
Scabbyborough can wander off to his own little dog and pony freepfest.. I'll watch Ron :)

I absolutely agree that he has his father's ability to communicate. Many of the same mannerisms, too.
I think it's that Regan demeanor, rather than the name, that causes the more conservative voices to give him a lot of respect.
I could almost hear his dad tonight, "Well, uh, are you going to condemn this ad or not?"
Point. Set. Match.

21. Unfortunately, the offending preposition continues to be repeated: "with." |
|
As in "served with." This is a meme that must be dispelled. These right-wing hit men didn't anymore serve "with" Kerry than I did "with" Cowboy-great Roger Staubach. He was at Cam Rahn Bay and so was I. Two years apart. Nor was Bob Hope my foxhole buddy. We were actually in Vietnam at the same time (who can't say that?), but hundreds of miles away. Nor was I in bed with Ann-Margaret, when she was in Vietnam (fantasies notwithstanding!).
Try this on for size. I have had contact with only two pilots from my unit since 1971. One was my roomy, a great guy, who tracked me down in 1986. The other was a great guy who was in a holding pattern above me over the AHN VOR in the late 70s. I was in a LearJet and he was in an Army King Air. He heard my voice on the radio, recognized me, and said Doh-Mammy!. That was our unit re-group code when coming back from our deep and secrete missions. We were told Doh-mammy in Vietnamese meant "Mother-fucker." Maybe it did, maybe it didn't.

I had begged MSNBC to bring Keith on board, before he got this gig. After he did get the show, he wrote to me to say thanks for begging, and he said that if viewers would respond positively to MSNBC, the producers would let him control the content. It has been going his way for some time now.
Don't let up! Mail, mail, mail. Phone calls, paper letters, whatever! Keep him front and center!

Scarborough and Buchanan are suprisingly tolerable/reasonable tonight, and Ron isn't backing down to Republican talking points and spin. Plus it seems to be very good-natured and even-tempered (lots of laughing). Not bad!

31. Gene Simmons was great! |
|
Typical brain-dead Bush supporter. He never DID seem to get the point about Al Qaeda preferring Bush in order to keep up their high recruitment. It just didn't register at all. You could see his brain overloading right before your eyes. Now I know why he wears make-up - so no one can see when he's having a brain-dead moment.
That was so hilarious!

36. I enjoyed their rapport during the convention. |
|
Political panel for moderates.
Discussion without derision.
I was wondering, after Simmons went on his Bush rant, if the producers had asked the panel to lighten up and get into the Elvis "smoking the curtains" stuff. (We're not Hannity & Colmes! We're not Crossfire. We're not even O'Reilley, for crying out loud! Lighten up!)
After the convention aired, I wrote and told MSNBC I'd like to see more of the format, so I was pretty glad to see them.
Reagan has more spine than Colmes; and Scarborough -- more mellow with Reagan --is certainly less abusive than Hannity. It's an environment where people are allowed to entertain other points of view without being dimissed as some pathetic loser.
I enjoy that. I get frustrated with the arrogance of the far left and the obstinance of the far right.
This country's getting back to where it was during the late sixties. That was the most depressing time in all my life. This period is getting close to that.
John Edwards was really on to something when he came to Iowa with his positive message.
I was glad to see that message continued during the convention. And was very happy to see this group of folks pick up on that tone.
I hope this show succeeds, and people can learn to talk to each other again.
