Protest Idea (mabye bad taste, but...)
Edited on Fri Aug-22-03 06:28 PM by nu_duer
Remember during bush the first's re-election campaign, a guy dressed as a chicken or something (was it a cigarette?) met bush at every stop and drew a lot of attention? This is kind of along those lines...

I think most here would agree that many young American soldiers have died needlessly because of gwmoron's arrogance, ego, and greed. Anything that would leagally remove him from power, from the WH he stole and perverted, would not only be desperately desirable for many reasons, but would also save countless American lives (and HUMAN lives) from risk of death and dismemberment and lifetime anquish as they are forced to pursue the madman's conquests.

Having said all that, what if, at each campaign stop or fundraiser of the bush regime, the liars are greeted with men and women in camoflauge (French word, btw) and uniform, splattered with red "blood," and made up to look like wounded soldiers? What if they carried signs that said, "Why Did You LIE to US, Bush?!" or "Bring US Home Now, Bush!" or "WHERE ARE THE WMDs, BUSH?" or "Where did YOU Serve, BUSH?!" etc. You get the idea...

I'm convinced this would get wide media attention, would help to lay the foreign policy failures of this regime at its feet, would help to raise the awareness level of the sheeple, and may save some lives in the end.

Imagine it, at every campaign stop for cheney, bush, rummy, condi, etc. likenesses of the dead and maimed soldeirs the chickenhawk warmongers put in harm's way for lies...kinda like an extreme "ladies in pink" thing, except very symbolic, and very confrontational. Even pics of these guys being removed by the SS would be stark.

maybe?

2. I'm not sure I like this, although I do like the idea
of confronting them with the fact that soldiers have died for nothing really in their cruddy war for oil. If you carry posters to this effect, dressing in black monks robes with cowls over your head could make a statement and also hide your identity just in case.

4. Plan B) would be to have the military families there, in
fact it would be even better because it would be a publicity nightmare for the secret service et al to be photographed dragging the military families away while the families of the soldiers in Iraq shout "bring the home NOW" etc.

It'd also be great for the 9/11 families to be there demanding answers about the WTC tragedies.

5. Is there a law against wearing an army uniform when you are not
in the army? Check that first.

6. Lots of cammo worn at the mall
They sell it in surplus stores and thrift stores. To some it is fashion. And its cheap. It may be illegal to wear an actual uniform, but the cammo is certainly allowed.
