1. This interview should be from a prison cell, if there was any justice.
Millions died because of McNamara and his cohorts efforts.

3. Quote From Condi Rice, Also on Charlie Rose
This is back when it was Gov. Chipmpy, not President Chimpy:

"So the question isn't should the United States be involved in helping other build democracy. It's what's the right instrument for that. And if you focus on the military as somehow a nation builder or the carrier of democracy, you forget that non-governmental institutions are sometimes much more effective. That economic assistance, the trade, the faith based institutions, universities are really, in many ways, America's strongest instrument."

Condoleezza Rice

Unlike David BROCK, who appears to have made a complete rehabilitation.

Here's my problem with McNAMARA. It's an age-old problem. You can tell people they are wrong, and THEY WON'T LISTEN. So, 50,000 people die and HISTORY tells you you were wrong, and NOW you ADMIT you were wrong. But, SOMEBODY TOLD YOU BACK THEN YOU WERE WRONG AND YOU DIDN'T LISTEN.

So, Sorry, Mc, FUCK YOU.

And btw, the same goes for the PURE anti-whatever, back then, McGOVERN. We needed to BEAT NIXON. But noooooooo, we had to go down in flames and let NIXON win.

8. McNamara haters all. This is a must see! Three reasons:
#1. The story. McNamara and his 11 lessons. He includes little tidbits, that I have been harping on for 25 years or so, like Norman Morrison's suicide on the Pentagon steps in early November 1965. Then came the Ia Drang battles. Big set-piece battles early in the war.

#2. ERROL MORRIS, Documentary Filmmaker. Maybe his best.

#3. The music by Phillip Glass is fantastic. Especially that drum-inspired music that accompanies the town-naming and US town-comparing of Japanese towns (including Tokyo) fire-bombed with help of McNamara's Harvard-trained planning.

See "The Fog of War." Please.
