Scarborough's comment on Kerry
I can't beleive I flipped to MSNBC to hear this last night. I detest Scarborough with more intensity every day.

He was talking about John Kerry's upcoming event at the carrier Yorktown. When he reported Kerry's statement about having been on a carrier for real (I messed up the words but that's the gist of it) Scarborough then said "Yeah, maybe that's why we lost the war!"

I almost threw a book at the tv! Was Joe ever in the military? That man is the lowest form of scum that I try not to step in. Yuck!

1. He actually said that?
Did he ever serve (and I know he didn't serve time for killing his staff member, I mean in the military)?

2. You've got to understand
that the freepers hate veterans. They see people who went to war as so much stupid cannon fodder, and see themselves as being smart enough to have beat the draft in one way or another. They only pay lip service to "support our troops" so the sheeple will follow their lead into overseas adventures. Did you hear Fox touting the fact that veteran benefits were cut on the day we went into Iraq? Do you hear anyone in the media making a big deal over the Pentagon's proposed lowering of haz. duty pay? Of course not! Make sure the sheeple hear about some basketball player or Elvis's daughter, but nothing of substance. And keep waving the flag and tying yellow ribbons around-that doesn't take courage and really doesn't support the troops.

12. YOU ARE SO RIGHT - I could not agree more
this is so true. As evidenced by Bush not visiting families and injured. As evidenced by attempts to cut pay, hazard pay and separation pay by the Busshits even as our kids are dying in the streets in Iraq. You are so right, and American soldiers who support Bush are just too stupid and too patriotic to allow themselves to question a man heartlessly and needlessly sending these men and women to their deaths.

Fuck Bush

3. You Will Love This - Scarborough In Military Garb
http://www.scarboroughforcongress.com/bio.html

This is a link to his Campaign website with his bio. No military service mentioned, so I assume there is none. What is hysterical though is his photo centered on the page - dressed in military garb - sitting in a jeep -- hanging out with the troops.

Too funny. He is just like Bush.

Oh, and while you are there take in the bit about attending First Baptist Church in Pensacola. Apparently he attended, but didn't listen the day the minister breached against adultery.

You know that Pensacola is another hotbed of Att. Gen. Ashcrofts religion. And most of the jobs come from the military base.

8. My email to MSNBC
I wasn't logged on last night or I would have done it then.

Dear MSNBC,
I was totally appalled last night to hear what Joe Scarborough had to say about John Kerry's military career.

After showing Kerry's comment about having served on a carrier Scarborough said "Yeah, maybe that's why we lost the war."

How dare he! How much military service does Mr Scarborough have? Does he have a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, or three Purple Hearts? Compare John Kerry's military career with George Bush's. Wait, there is no comparison!

What a slap in the face to all veterans. I can't believe that you condone this sort of arrogance! I will make it my goal today to let all my veteran friends know about this. I will make it my goal to spread the word of Joe Scarborough and make sure people know what a hateful vile man he is.

I never should have switched over to MSNBC last night. I will never do it again while Joe Scarborough is associated with your network!

Sincerely,
/signed/

That being said, Kerry trying to out-bush bush will bring plenty of that . If I were him, I'd put out my war protesting credentials.

14. Remember Scarborough's comment to Imus on MSNBC?
Imus mentioned something about rumors about him. Scarborough said, Yeh, I had sex with an intern and had to kill her. Very sarcastic.
That is very close to the exact words.

Of course he only resigned because he wanted to, and the coroner who botched it all was fired for other reasons. Of course.

Someone on here had an audio of Scarborough's comments. I don't have it bookmarked.

MSNBC must have gotten hundreds of emails about that, but they did not care.

16. Holy cow
I thought the carrier stunt was a mistake when I first heard about it, but it really does point up the Right's fear of Kerry's war record. I mean, pinning the whole war on him? Wow. Now it can be told: the total control one shavetail Lt. had on the prosecution of the Viet Nam conflict... Rolling Thunder, Project Phoenix, Cambodia, Laos... all engineered by Kerry from his boat on the Mekong River... This is more funny than anything.

17. Scarborough is a turd.
He was in rare form last night. The "lost the war" comment, combined with his Garofalo-bashing ("you're cute when you're angry", or something equally dismissive and insulting) had me ready to jump through the TV and strangle him. I really can't watch his show anymore. I don't know why I've tortured myself *this* long...

for the military?

I actually thought Scarborough served as he shows himself in uniform on his intro? Perhaps an email is in order to ask him about that? I guess he just played dress up, like his hero George W... Pathetic.

And, what an a$$ for saying what he did about Kerry.

JOE@MSNBC.COM is his email address for the record.

Edited to add in a freeper tone of voice.... "is this how he respects our men and women in uniform?" Somebody ask him this via email. I think we can get him with his own hypocricy.

24. I think you may just have heard exactly the stuff they intend to say
about Kerry and give you a clue of what kind of stuff will be said about any of our candidates if they become the nominee. I've said this many times before. It is EXACTLY this type of low-ball shit that the Dems better start doing themselves. They always just stand there and take it and end up with their faces in the mud. I like the comment one of you made above that maybe "we lost the war because of people like Bush who went AWOL". That's the type of lines political pundits, etc. need to blare on tv. (opps, I forgot. Our pundits are invited on to sit there and get their asses kicked. If any of them said such a thing, they would never be in front of the camera again----fine, then let them line up one after another to take the place and keep saying the same attacks over and over. They can't shut everyone up!).

Seriously, how low and scummy do you have to be to get a gig on MSNBC?

If Timothy McVeigh weren't dead, they'd call him a patriot and give him a fucking talk show.

26. Conservatives Are Pissing Their Pants On This One
Reminds me of the time Rush Limbaugh got called out on his own show for attacking Kerry. Rush was a sputtering wreck by the end, completely unable to handle the chickenhawk label or the truth about his 1-Y for an anal cyst.

29. That's the whole thing....Kerry exposes them ALL...
because they have no good answers for ANY questions of their own lack of service while promoting wars, or for why they support policies that HURT veterans and the military personnel themselves.

They will lose any of their more moderate voting audiences, and anyone who is a true conservative.

31. Another reason for Turd Blossom to flood his XL Depends.
Once his biography gets widely heard and his record is known, John Kerry will attract the large block of white males who've overwhelmingly gone repube. Reason? No one likes to follow a lesser man (read in the current example either "W" or "Scarboro").
