Did anyone catch Paul Krugman on Dennis Miller last night?
Krugman caught O'Reilly in yet ANOTHER lie -- Hans Blix never appeared on O'Reilly's show prior to the war.

1. I heard him talking with Franken about it yesterday am
on the Sirius radio in the car.

O'Reilly is a real piece of work.

He kept saying Blix "flat out said" this or that. And of course he was never even there.

I guess the trick to RW lying is to say the lie as confidently, vehemently and repeatedly as possible.

2. You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din
I don't think you could make me watch Dennis Miller's show without the use of heavy-duty immobilizing drugs and a contraption like Malcolm McDowell was put into in "A Clockwork Orange."

It's too bad Krugman didn't have that handy little fact when he was talking to O'Reilly face to face on Timmy's stupid show. And even more unfortunate that Timmy didn't have the grace to treat both his guests that evening with respect.

13. Miller is too sickening to bear
I was channel-surfing, and came in at the moment when Krugman made a point about net job loss... and Miller immediately fell back on the "but 9/11 changed everything" routine. Yes, even on the topic of jobs. Ugh.

14. Paul: It's about time 9/11 lost its convenience
as a justification of poor job numbers and a poor economy.

After all, it was three years ago.

We should have seen some gains by now.

16. Is that what he said? Good for him!
I clicked away as soon as Miller started spouting this nonsense. My blood pressure just can't take it!

3. Didn't see it
But I did hear this on Al Franken's show yesterday, Krugman was on and they talked about it.

Everything O'Reilly says seems to be BS.

4. No... not "before" the war.
Blix did appear on O'Really's show back in March. OReilly-Sucks.com has a transcripte here...

Blix cut him absolutely no slack!

5. This man is an idiot
My favorite was this: "We could have wiped them out in two days, and you know that. I was there. You were there. Highway to death. We could have wiped them in two days out."

"Highway to death." WTF? He was there? Really? So, O'Reilly was in the trenches with the troops?

What an absolute idiot.

7. Here's my favorite...
O'REILLY: But do you understand that when you have 17 violations of a treaty, a war treaty, that you basically have to take action?

BLIX: Well, you're talking about a war treaty. It was a cease-fire. It was not a war treaty.

O'REILLY: Oh, come on. Now don't play semantics here, sir.

BLIX: Second -- all right. I'm trying to be precise. You are imprecise. I'm sorry.

HEHEHEHEHE... O'Really, you tool!

6. The part O'Reilly used to say that Blix told him about the scientists
O'REILLY: All right. But nobody ever told you, Mr. Blix, this is what they did? No scientist...

BLIX: Yes.

O'REILLY: Did they tell you that?

BLIX: Yes, they said -- they said -- consistently said that they had destroyed it.

O'REILLY: Who's they? I mean did...

BLIX: The Iraqi scientists.

O'REILLY: The Iraqi scientists?

BLIX: Yes.

10. I saw it
And that's unusual for me. Miller makes me sick, but I was flipping by the channel and saw Krugman sitting there so I stopped. He looked very nervous, but held his own and even had that freeper audience applauding his points. I loved how Miller backed off and tried to look like a "nice guy" since he knew he lost his own audience.

And who says there isn't a God?

11. Krugman can look awkward
but he is a economist not a TV personality.

17. These comments from my husband
he doesn't follow issues the way I do. But he's traveling on business and was flipping and caught Dennis Miller getting spanked by some "writer guy". He was intrigued. He can't stand snarky, greasy Dennis. He was ecstatic. Called me but it was too late. I missed Krugman. So, thanks to you all for the recap. Giving me a warm glow.
