With so many houses for sale, I don't buy it that there's a problem

With so many houses for sale, I don't buy it that there's a problem
with building new houses.

House builders are scared that they'll overbuild.

The cost for raw materials has gone up, on average $7000 per house.

(I'm watching this business show on PBS. In the middle of more damn corporate mergers did they have the aforementioned juicy piece on housing.)

With all the for-sale signs because of people losing their jobs, how the hell is the housing industry still doing well?!
