The National Debt Clock
Go to http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ to see how much every living soul in the United States owes. This even includes all of those unfortunate enough to be in a coma.

9. We never had one trillion surplus in recent memory
That was projected because of budget surplus. We haven't been under five trillion dollars in debt in a decade. Bush* has rasised that figure to almost seven trillion.

11. and for what?
So he could enrich himself and those at Haliburton. If we were dealing with normal mortals here, wouldn't a charge of "larceny by conversion" be lodged?

Think about it, he stole your tax money, my tax money, and under false pretenses, waged an unecessary war that ultimately enriched his friends. I am no accountant, but it sure sounds like the republicans are running a high-spin laundrymat to me

2. it's funny/sad
in new york that used to be on a huge billboard. But during the clinton administration it was deemed pointless and taken down. Since * came into office, it's been put back up, but it's smaller and in a less expensive location.

3. I was wondering if they put it back up.
That's W's legacy. He put the National Debt board back up in NYC.

It had been VERY close to Madison Square Garden (am I right about that?), the site of the Repug convention!

Is it anywhere near there now?

12. Maybe this explains the concept
of origional sin. We have to pay for the sins of the republicans.
That is why they want us to believe in it so bad

7. Tick tock, tick tock
$20,000 a second.

Every 145 seconds (about 2 and a half minutes), every person in the U.S. owes another penny.

Every hour, a person owes another quarter (24.82 cents).

Every day, you owe $5.96 more
