I saw him state this on the embarrassing soft ball Larry King interview this week.

I would really like to see a reporter counter:

"Mr. President, if you are against stem cell research because ethicists tell you its sacrifices life to save life, why don't you have any reservations sacrificing full grown human life to save life by waging a pre-emptive war in Iraq? It's ethically the same thing isn't it?"

I'd love to see his head explode trying to answer that...

1. I used this same argument on my father in law.....

He said that what we did on Iraq isn't equatable to what terrorists did on 9/11 because our actions saved lives as well from a despotic regime.

Fair enough as a position (albeit one I disagree with). But my FIL then went on to state that he was against stem cell research from moral grounds.

So killing 10,000 living, breathing humans to possibly save several thousand from dying under a dictator is o.k. but killing however many cells in a petri dish to possibly save thousands if not millions from dying under a horrible, debilitating disease is not.
