Just Another Sickening Story From Iraq .
(read the entire article to hear about how they took $200,000 - money destined for United Nations-supported aid programs)

For one family, ' Judgment Day'

BY RAY SÁNCHEZ
STAFF CORRESPONDENT

August 15, 2004

BAGHDAD, Iraq -

<snip>
Omar al-Rawi, 23, a medical student who speaks English, ran to the living room as the soldiers burst through the wooden front door.

<snip>
A soldier pointed a rifle at him, al-Rawi recalled, and ordered, "Shut up or I'll kill you!"

When al-Rawi explained that he was a medical student, the soldier replied, "You're a terrorist." Al-Rawi said he was knocked down, a pistol was shoved in his mouth and an M-16 rifle held to his forehead.
<snip>

A pistol was pointed at his head and the American shouted something in English. "These are the last minutes of your life," al-Rawi said the interpreter told him. "Confess or die now."

"I am a merchant," he repeated.

He said a soldier took a Rolex watch from one of the men and pocketed it. Another took a mobile phone.

The soldiers bound the men's hands and put hoods over their heads and led them away. Before leaving, the family said, the troops took a Toyota Corolla and a BMW, gold bars, passports and other personal documents.

<snip>

1. This shit has been going on
UNCHECKED for almost a year and a half now. Kids shot while playing, doors kicked in, teenies dragged out-STILL inaccounted for, "chicks" getting in the way, BOOM! You're DEAD. Just a damn sandnigger anyway... one less of THEM to shoot at US...

American citizens cannot allow this atrocity to continue in their names if they value them.

2. Winning the hearts and minds.
Hmm...someone posted that a % of the US forces have criminal pasts.

Supporting the troops is getting to be a bit more difficult these days.

10. I support bringing them home
but not terrorizing, murdering, raping and torturing people for Bush.
They are doing the 'dirty work', all these things are condoned from higher up. Myself, I'd rather go to prison than follow orders in Bush's criminal enterprises.

3. I wish some folks could understand
This is why many of us want Kerry to clearly separate himself from
this "war" and flatly condemn it. History will judge these War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity.

5. Not just sad, my most dear Opi
Remember that theorum we learned in our youth, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." It's all so stupid and I'm just so totally bummed. Would that we could sit under the stars together, scarfing down poi and sashimi... :cry:
