What will be the DLC's Public Statement of Chavez's Landslide Victory?
Since they have a virulent distain for populist movements (they looked down their noses at those of us who support moderate Howard Dean), I wonder what they will say publicly about Venezuela's 94.9% turnout, of which almost 60% went to Chavez. And of course the bulk of Chavez's support comes from the poor barrios. Chavez's victory is a populist victory and a stunning defeat for "free" trade policies that the DLC favors.

1. That's enviable turnout...
...isn't it. See what happens when people really believe they have a stake in the outcome of an election...

2. 58%..."landslide"?
I think it's great that Chavez got a clear majority but "landslide"? I didn't know Venezuela used an electoral college.

3. A 16% margin of victory with a 94.9% turnout is a landslide
If you don't like "landslide," how about "routed" the opposition.
