The mission of Homeland Security is......SEX CRIMES? |
|
My TV is interviewing someone who is telling me that pedophiles are terrorists?
Does this mean pedophiles can be held indefinitely without trial?

2. Not pedophiles . . . SUSPECTED pedophiles |
|
It's very important to stop pedophiles before they molest children. After all, no one wants to see children molested, right? Right? So we have to lock up all suspected pedophiles before they can harm our most precious resource, our children. Don't you agree?
You don't? You think that's specious reasoning? You're not some kind of pedophile yourself, are you? You didn't answer immediately. What are you hiding? Apparently, you are capable of pedophilia. Off to Gitmo with you, pervert.
Don't resist. It's for your own good, really.

4. That's 2/3 of the 'unholy trio' we need to protect the internet from! |
|
During the 'Communications Decency Act' and Clipper Chip struggles of the mid '90's, an attempt to institute wholesale surveillance of the internet was sold on the idea that we need to protect ourselves from 'Terrorists, Drug Dealers and Pedophiles'.
They always use those three groups as 'the boogeyman', since they are impossible to defend according to the establishment reasoning.

don't forget the bongs.
And hookers, don't forget the hookers.
Or anything else the tight-ass, canting hypocrites don't like.
(Of course, abusing children is a serious crime and must be dealt with harshly, regardless of whether it is illness or appetite.)

6. Yes, and I'd like the FBI to deal with it. But Homeland Security? |
|
Are they trying to justify their budget, since they ain't caught a terrorist yet?

but I guess my point is that they can use "Homeland Security" as a phrase to cover anything that any agency (having anything to do with it) does.
This phrase, I believe, is just another version of "National Security".
It was not my desire (or I believe your intent) to say anything positive about pedophiles. I just wanted to make sure that no malicious person read anything more into what I was saying than what I said.
I agree that this is slightly paranoid, and I did not expect that you would take it in an unflattering way. It was not intended that way.

I really do think they are trying to justify their budget. And their existence.

and all these things play really big in fundie-land, particularly as many fundies (fuzzies!) probably don't, can't or won't, distinguish between homosexuality and pedophilia.
