WTF, I heard a guy say maybe 5 million in the next 2-3 years will be going to the Far East, India, Mexico, and Eastern Europe.

A friend of mine is an 80K a year engineer, and he's over in China now training his replacement who makes about 5K. He will come back to a 7-11 or Wal Mart job according to his wife. Electrical engineers in his field are being shipped out of the country.

Corporate America is delaying many announcements until after the election. If Kerry somehow manages to win, he will inherit the biggest fucking mess since FDR in 1933.

1. Hmmm...
Not all outsourcing can be stopped, but Kerry should order huge tax penalties for companies that outsource and cancellation of their government contracts.

Congress may not go along with that. In which case, Kerry should just do it all by executive order, after declaring an economic state of emergency in the United States and then telling the Supreme Court to go fuck themselves. If the rich old white men and the whiners at Fox News don't like it, I'm afraid that's just too bad.

4. Taxing those Outsourcing...
Kerry has already made that promise, apparently he knows at this point you cannot just stop this high powered money making machine with the drop of a hat, but obviously, if you tax them enough, it just might stop this nonsense...

And these huge company's calling themselves patriotic, Patriots my arse...

2. As hard as it would
be to give up even one week's pay, guys like your friend ought to tell their companies to find someone else to train the cheap foreign replacements.

I mean, isn't this a little like sharpening the sword to be used to behead you?

3. tell your friend
to train the new worker how to really eff up the system.

Then he can collect the check and have a little fun, too.

5. He needs the money and the bonus when he's through.
Also, I don't think he's paying taxes while working over there. It will give his family a nice little cushion for what's ahead.

He says TV sucks, but food is cheap. Another funny thing he said was that we have more cops than what he has seen over there. The place is also polluted to hell and back.

6. ANY American firm that doesn't work in an "America First" context
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 01:19 AM by chicagojoe
ought to have the living sh** taxed out of it. Period. No "free trade", "free market" ideological b.s.
America First needs to become the norm in ALL aspects of life in this nation. Education, healthcare, everything.

7. Those are old dreams, Chicagojoe....
Dreams that are now dead...."education, healthcare, everything."

It was from another time, and another place. The New World Order neocons (who also own the voting machines and the media, by the way) won't allow "the people" to control things any more. They own the militaries: both the government-run armies, and the "privatized" armies....and neither one owes allegiance to "the people", apparently. And we no longer have any government representatives that actually 'represent' us.

We can either rebel, or we can submit. But they won't go gently into that 'good-night'.

8. Here is what we do:
1. Tax them if they outsource to any other country without just cause. Tax triple what the amount they would save by outsourcing.
2. Cancel all government contracts with that part of a conglomerate.
3. If they cut and run to Bermuda or any other "tax haven," cut the entire conglomerates government contracts.
4. Arrest the CEO for wilful destruction of American lives.

Okay maybe not that last one. ;)

9. Poppy's Revenge.
The US is going to be a pretty ugly place after the Election, regardless of its outcome. Kerry could spend two terms just trying to rein in the breaks that the BFEE has given corporations. Those would include the breaks we know about and the ones we haven't heard of yet.

10. just wish they'd realize how dangerous this practice is
to our national security; in the big scheme of things...Kerry gets it, Bu$h doesn't. He wants to bankrupt the US so we all join the armed forces, that'll be the only paying 'job'!?!
