Winds of Change-Getting Out the VOTE
"I feel that there is a disconnect between government and
people," Wilhelmi says. "People have ceased to recognize how
government impacts them and is relevant in their lives." The No.
1 reason young people give for not registering to vote is that
they don't believe it matters, Wilhelmi says. "They don't see
any connection between voting and positive change."

Did you know that more young people voted during the
last `American Idol' than voted in the 2000
presidential election? That's scary."
