Is the Army subjecting troops to anti-Michael Moore "training"?
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 06:18 PM by Chomskyite
Just now one of our local idiot talk-show hosts on the Right in Baton Rouge, Ed Buggs, interviewed a woman who said she was 18, had served in Iraq as a marksman, and that she had been to a weeklong program that the Army mandated she attend whose sole purpose was to rebut the movie Fahrenheit 911.

It was obvious from her answers she'd never seen Fahrenheit 911. When I called and asked Buggs what he thought of Bush sitting for 7 minutes while we were attacked, Buggs yelled and hollered that I was brainwashed by Moore and that any piece of film can be "taken out of context."

The "marksman" then agreed but seemed to jumble up the clip I meant with other clips in the movie. She didn't know what I was referring to.

Has anyone heard of the Army wasting our money this way and then sending out servicemen and women to go on talkshows?

Here's Ed Buggs' site:

2. I was pretty sure this was a fraud
. . . cooked up by Ed especially for his show. So much just didn't add up.

This is a guy who'll do ANYthing to generate hot air and to keep drivers listening to him rather than NPR or their CDs.

3. The military actually came off looking good in the film
Most people left with an appreciation of the military they may not have had before seeing the film. Even Republicans who saw the movie said it was a very patriotic film and did not bash the military at all.

4. I agree
What I heard today was just an amateurish con job perpetrated on listeners who will probably not know better.
