Najaf's Valley of Peace...You Must See This

Considered one of the largest cemeteries in the world, there are several million Shiites buried in the Valley of Peace cemetery that stretches for miles.

HAVE YOU SEEN The Headlines?

US planes bomb Najaf, hopes of peace fade

Monday, 23 August , 2004, 19:22

Iraq: US planes pounded Najaf's cemetery and historic centre near the Imam Ali shrine on Monday, dimming hopes of a peaceful end to a near three-week stand-off between US-led Iraqi troops and Shiite militia.

Dense, black smoke spewed into the sky above the enormous, sacred Valley of Peace burial ground after a deafening explosion followed by a second blast in the early afternoon as a US plane flew overhead.

CAN YOU IMAGINE...OUR PLANES ARE BOMBING THIS SACRED BURIAL SITE THAT IS MORE THAN A THOUSAND YEARS OLD!!

Does this enrage anyone else??

1. Bush is giving Bin Laden and his Christian supporters what they want most
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 10:44 PM by blm
A FOCKIN' HOLY WAR!

That way they drop a nuclear bomb or two, rid the world of about a billion Muslims and the Christians will see it as Armageddon, a prophecy fulfilled. No wonder Bush runs his foreign policy through Biblical advisors like Jack Van Impe and Tim LaHaye.

4. You know, I think you're on to something...
I'm beginning to wonder if this Holy War innuendo is what's giving Bush* his poll numbers!

What ELSE could it possible be??

5. The US Government has since been implicated in that Looting!

US government implicated in planned theft of Iraqi artistic treasures
By Ann Talbot
19 April 2003

As the full extent of the looting of Iraq’s National Museum in Baghdad emerges, it becomes clear that there was nothing accidental about it. Rather it was the result of a long planned project to plunder the artistic and historical treasures that are held in the museums of Iraq.

Had the National Museum of Iraq been looted by poor slum dwellers it would have been crime enough, and the responsibility would have rested with the American administration that refused, despite repeated warnings, to provide for the security of Baghdad’s cultural buildings.

Once the museum staff were able to communicate with the outside world, however, it became apparent that the looting was not random. It was the work of people who knew what they were looking for and came specially equipped for the job.

Dr. Dony George, head of the Baghdad Museum, said, “I believe they were people who knew what they wanted. They had passed by the gypsum copy of the Black Obelisk. This means that they must have been specialists. They did not touch those copies.”

6. this is so shameful....
"O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle -- be Thou near them! With them -- in spirit -- we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it -- for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen."

Mark Twain

Same as it ever was.
