Television, 'media' in general today is mere FRACTION of what it could be |

I was taught thru "TeeVee"....the programs that I watched Marcus Welby (gee, Marcus...she might have to have an emergency hysterectomy! Oh, you mean when they remove her uterus!" <---simple example, but they always defined/taught something, or EMERGENCY, all of those medical terms, or Perry Mason re-runs....legal logical thinking, or Dragnet......all of those shows taught, taught, taught.....yes, they were corny as all hell, but they subtlely (or not so subtlely) taught a LOT!
Where did all the good people go? I don't (want) to believe they are gone...just waiting for a 'better day'. We can't wait too long though, or else time will kill us all!

There are tons more I could think of, if I wasn't about 20 minutes from crashing, but even shows like WKRP and Mork & Mindy were always teaching and not the prissy, "just say no" pablum like Diff'rent Strokes or The Cosby Show. They were all great stalwarts of secular humanism and the idea that knowing stuff was cool.
