when Kerry's votes on a particular piece of legislation is brought up, it's really NOT relevant, since PRE 9-11, legislation passed or voted against, would have to be measured by a whole different scale..


and


even AFTER 9-11, it's obvious that the "intelligence" was seriously flawed, so how could the congress and senate even trust the information they needed, in order to vote appropriately...


and


remember who controlled congress since 1994 (except for a few occasions when dems controlled the senate...very slim support)...
even if they had the "perfect bill", they would have never commanded the support necessary to pass it...


If the repubes can claim "personal responsibility" and then shed it like a snakeskin when it suits them, the dems have got to start telling it like it is...often...and LOUDLY...

2. This meme always bugs me

"9-11 changed everything." Is it shallow of me to point out that there are lots of things that didn't change? For example President Bushs determination to push through huge tax givaways to the wealthy didn't change at all. Our reliance on Oil and Gas didn't change at all. And all sorts of other things
