US warplanes violate Iran's air space
Aug 24, 2004, 19:11
IRNA

Five US warplanes entered Iran's air space last Thursday night from the southwestern Shalamcheh border and flew over the city of Khorramshahr for a while, press reports said Tuesday.

According the Persian daily Seday-e Edalat, 'the jet fighters which flew at high speed and altitude, then headed to the Arvand River'.

"They flew at a height of 10 kilometers and maneuvered over Khorramshahr for a while," the paper said.

"While the objective behind the fighters' violation of the Iranian air space is not known yet, some military specialists believe such moves are aimed at assessing the sensitivity of the Islamic Republic's anti-aircraft defense system," it added.

3. Remember the Bush regime claim against Saddam Hussein?
They are commiting acts of war to provoke Iran into defending itself in an effort to manufacture a pretext to launch a large scale attack on Iran.

Bush Criticizes Iraq For Shooting Planes
By Associated Press
Published: Tuesday, October 1, 2002
WASHINGTON—The Bush administration criticized Iraq on Monday for continuing to fire at U.S. and British warplanes patrolling two no-fly zones while preparing for the return of United Nations weapons inspectors.

"With each missile launched at our air crews, Iraq expresses its contempt for the U.N. resolutions," Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said at a Pentagon news briefing.

Iraq has fired on no-fly-zone patrols 67 times since promising two weeks ago, on Sept. 16, to allow U.N. weapons inspectors back into the country, said Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

"It bothers the dickens out of me that U.S. and British pilots are getting fired at day after day after day, with impunity," Rumsfeld said.

8. ARRRGH!!!
That LIE just bugs the F out of me!!! (not you, bush's lie)

There NEVER EVER was ANY UN resolution for the free-fly zones!!! The US was ILLEGALLY flying over Iraq airspace and like it or not (bush, not you!) that is a FACT!!!

Iraq was perfectly within their LEGAL RIGHTS to shoot down every one of the US planes ILLEGALLY flying over and ILLEGALLY bombing.

And those US planes ILLEGALLY flew over and ILLEGALLY bombed Iraq almost DAILY for TEN YEARS!!!

AND AMERICANS WONDER WHY THEY'RE HATED?????!!!

5. Replay of Bush regime provocations against Iraq...
Of course this is to provoke the Iranians. There are daily U2 flights over Iran, what would be the point in sending fighters?

To invade iran of course.

9. The Europe troop relocation will take years.
Yes, this is scary news, but the source is an Iranian newspaper. It is too soon for an invasion even in October. Rumsfeld-Wolfowitz have made some collosal errors, but even they would think twice about opening up a third front.

However, a war against Iran in 2005 or 2006 is not out of the question if Bush isn't kicked out. For him, election timing is key. That is why Iraq was invaded when it was, in a hurry, because he had hoped to wrap it up by now.

So this incursion into Iran, if real was probably ELINT, as another poster has written. It would be saber rattling.
