Motion for IMPEACHMENT about to be filed against Tony Blair!
Here it comes, folks. Bushler's Partner-in-Crime Poodle is about to become the first British Prime Minister in 150 years to have motions of impeachment brought up against him! Will he survive, given the fact that BushCo's illegal war is growing nastier - and looking even more unjustified and pointless with each passing day? Any way you cut it, this isn't going to look good for Chimpy and his reselection campaign!

1. I'm surprised he's made it this far
I don't think he'll stay long enough to be impeached.

40. Me too
The British people do not like the war as much as the bumper sticker jingoist demographic of the American public. I am really suprised Blair is still in power there. He looks like a big fool, going around like a horned up Mississippi Leg Hound in heat whenever he gets close to the Shrubery.

2. Interesting news
And certainly it won't look good for Bush that his best pal and only ally is getting impeached on the same shit that Bush has been feeding us. Do you suppose anyone will be able to connect THOSE dots?

5. Wow!
"Today a number of MPs, including myself, are declaring our intention to bring a Commons' motion of impeachment against the prime minister in relation to the invasion of Iraq. This is the first time in more than 150 years that such a motion has been brought against a minister of the crown, and it is clearly not an undertaking we enter into lightly. We do it with regret, but also with resolve. For our first duty is to the people we represent, who feel they were misled, whose trust was betrayed, who have been placed in harm's way by the irresponsible actions of this prime minister. It is in their name that we impeach him. It is in their name, and with all the authority vested in us, that we implore him now to go. "

18. That's The Clear Implication
Anyone with a brain knows Blair was going along, not behind this action.

To call the action cynical must be interpreted as a shot over the bow of both Blair and Li'l Georgie.

WOW I am shocked. *anxiously awaiting BBC World News broadcast*

On Edit:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3600438.stm

<snip>
"Thursday's report has been produced by Dr Glen Rangwala, of Trinity College, Cambridge, and Dan Plesch, honorary fellow of Birkbeck College, University of London.

It has reportedly been backed by 11 MPs - nine of them Welsh and Scottish nationalists and two Conservatives, frontbencher Boris Johnson and ex-shadow minister Nigel Evans.

<snip>

"Anti-war MP Mr Price told BBC 2's Newsnight his impeachment call was not just a stunt.

"It deserves to be taken seriously," he said. "What has happened over the last 18 months is there is strong, compelling evidence we were misled over the war."

On BBC Wales, he added: "If nothing else comes out of this, people will realise impeachment is still an active part of parliamentary law and a minister who misleads and refuses to resign, can be removed by Parliament through impeachment."

21. Won't go anywhere
The story wasn't on the front page of either the Guardian or the London Times. This would suggest that the author lacks the political clout to make his impeachment motion go anywhere. I suspect you can safely ignore this.

22. The similarities to what happened here, and in England,
aaannnnd in Australia are simply astounding, eh?

"He claimed in early 2002 that Iraq had "stockpiles of major amounts of chemical and biological weapons" while the assessment of the joint intelligence committee at the time was that Iraq "may have hidden small quantities of agents and weapons". He told the TUC in September 2002 that Saddam "had enough chemical and biological weapons remaining to devastate the entire Gulf region", while the intelligence assessment was that "Saddam has not succeeded in seriously threatening his neighbours".

Blair displayed the most despicable cynicism of all when he warned that "it is a matter of time, unless we act and take a stand before terrorism and weapons of mass destruction come together", even though the government was later forced to admit to the Butler inquiry that "the JIC assessed that any collapse of the Iraqi regime would increase the risk of chemical and biological warfare technology or agents finding their way into the hands of terrorists, and that the prime minister was aware of this".

Also astounding is the difference...

"One MP is all it takes to make the accusation of high crimes and misdemeanours against a public official for an impeachment process to begin."

27. The lefties in Labour fighting the Brit DLC poodles.
Too bad our "leaders" don't have the fortitude or ethics to do the same. It's unbelievable that a president gets impeached for his private life, and the one currently infesting the WH gets away with being responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iraqis and near 1000 deaths of Americans.

We have proof of violation
of the Boland Act...trading with the enemy and trading US secrets
against Cheney and Rumsfeld just before they were back in government.
and then capitalizing on it when they are back in govt. ( and I do mean capitalizing, like "cashing in".

American Judas by Robert Paulsen - story of Cheney and Rumsfeld illegal spreading WMD nuke components to Pakistan, North Korea, and there's more:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Did anyone here print it out and send it to their Congressman or Reps or call them up and ask for an appointment so they could hand it to them personally in black & White?

Would you?

32. Actually there's no Labour involvement in it yet
it's the 2 Welsh and Scottish nationalist parties, plus a couple of Conservative MPs (who are 'front bench', ie party spokesmen on subjects, and so quite prominent). It would need 80 Labour MPs, plaus all the opposition parties, to succeed - don't hold your breath.

34. Exactly - when this doesn't build
it won't surprise me at all ;-)

Labour MPs are not going to accuse Blair of crimes. It's more extreme than a vote of no confidence. This is a small bit of theatre; they said on the news this evening that Blair won't even have to come to the Commons for the debate if he doesn't want to.

They say what they mean and mean what they say and they have PRINCIPLES! They warned Blair before he hopped on the chimp's war bandwagon that this was a huge mistake. He should have listened to the MAJORITY of his citizens. Big, big mistake to stand with the chimp. BIG MISTAKE.

41. Wow. An Impeachment proceeding for a Very Good Reason
Taking a country to war willy-nilly on false pretenses, killing the queen's subjects for no good reason, besmirching the good name of Britain, raiding its treasury and making alliances with fascist regimes.

I'd say he's cooked.

If he survives this, it will be his end anyway, as he'll be completely excoriated by the proceeding
