Neil Young's "Greendale" takes on Enron & Chimpy!!
http://www.neilyoung.com/lyrics/lyrics_sungreen.html

"when the city is plunged into darkness
by an unpredicted rolling blackout
the white house always blames the governor
sayin', 'the solution is to vote him out'"

I urge all DUers to go out and buy "Greendale". It's his best work since "Tonight's the Night"! No Shit.

He's back!

2. Unfortunately
I'll bet most people will never hear it because it will never be played on the lame ass clearchannel radio stations that dominate the airwaves.

3. Yeah I heard that tune on a local PBS station
the other day. Shame that I can't hear it on any commercial station in this market. I have always liked Neil Young and its good to hear that he's still taking shots at the Bush people. Incindentally, if anyone is interested, the radio station I heard the song on was KUNI radio. It can be accessed at www.kuniradio.org. They do stream and you will hear tunes that you may not hear elsewhere, including the latest Neil Young.

4. My local, non clear channel, station does requests over the lunch hour.
I think I will request it. They may not play it because it is new and they pretty much only play older songs, but hell it's Neil Young.

5. I love Neil Young
Remember "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World"? what an excellent song that was. My favorite line was..."kinder, gentler, machinegun hand".

10. A relic that is more relevant.....
then any and all the "top 40" current "artists" on any given chart.

Call him a relic, call him a genius, but Neil always marched to his own guitar chords, and his own thoughts and more power to him!!!

Keep on rockin' Neil, keep us thinking, keep us guessing!!!

12. those lyrics are great. they're not in-your-face enough

Funny how the rightwing has been playing "Born in the USA" like it's a pro-war song.

Too sad the way they haven't figured out it's a rant against right-wing flag-waving chicken-hawks.

8. GW is the great unificator...
"...Bush has polarised the country and is creating this breeding ground for an opposition. In the next couple of months, they'll probably make it unpatriotic to be Democrat. It's pretty crazy."

It's great to have him back on our side.

Thanks, George!

"I never knew a man,
could tell so many lies,
he had a different story
for every set of eyes.

How could he remember
who he's talkin' to?
'Cause I know it ain't me,...
and I hope it isn't you."

13. Thank the Poets for Neil Young!
Social commentary like I've never heard before, making my skin crawl and my scalp tingle. I've loved Neil's work since I was a kid.
