Superintendent Who Blocked Gay Group Was Having Affair on School Property
Here's another Top 10 Idiot nominee. And yes, it's in Texas again...

Last month Lambda Legal sued the Lubbock Independent School District for barring students from forming a Gay Straight Alliance on campus and recognizing it as a legitimate school club. It now appears the superintendent who wouldn’t allow the organization on school property was engaged in an ongoing extra-marital affair at that very location.

This week the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, CBS-13, revealed that Dr. Jack Clemmons, who suddenly and unexpectedly retired from the city’s schools in March, was engaged in a nearly one-year affair with one of his employees on school property and during school time.

Through an open records request for Dr. Clemmons’ e-mails, reporter James Clark found Clemmons and his lover left a series of messages on school computers, messages that by law are part of the public record. School officials asked the state attorney general to block that request. But eventually the attorney general ordered the schools to turn over the e-mails.

<snip>

And then on January 24, Clemmons made an unusual proposition, saying “I will give you an additional $500.00 ... If you will get totally naked with me here in the office. What do you think? I am serious. You would have to be naked and allow me to ‘play’ with your body!” The employee responded that same day “Forget it!!! You can keep your money!”

1. Nothing like morality
Can't have homosexuals, but he can have an affair and offer to make the woman, who isn't his wife, a prostitute. Yessirree! Nothing like being a moral guy. I hope his wife leaves him and he has hefty child support payments to make. I also hope that his own children aren't affected by dads phoniness. What a dope!

2. When Will Those Duped By These Upholders Of Moral Standards Learn?
Edited on Mon Aug-25-03 11:42 AM by The Magistrate
It operates with the regularity of physical law that those who make a great play of upholding moral standards for others are themselves busily engaged in their violation. In my city, it is a common jest that on electing someone alderman, you might as well save a great deal of time and trouble by conveying the wretch directly to a jail cell on corruption charges: similarly, when anyone makes a stand for traditional values in public, a great deal of time and trouble might be saved by a simultaneous announcement of public disgrace for the wretch's own private impurities.

3. We must remind people that the GOP has long claimed that
they are above the "standards" as set by the Clintons, therefore, they must be HELD to a higher standard, not a lower one, as witnessed by their own actions.

Remember the public outcry over three naked servicemen being dragged through the streets? The calls that any military action by Bill Clinton was going to result in truckloads of blood of the American military? 260+ deaths in Iraq and still going . . .

(Hey, that would make a great animated gif, the grim reaper beating a Bush drum . . .)

4. "Onward Christian Soldiers"
I think it's about time the words to that hymn were changed to:
"Onward Hypocrite soldiers."
