Uncovered:The truth behind the Iraq war Chicago opening
Did anyone go to the Chicago showing of Uncovered last night downtown. I went. The movie was really good. The interview with David Kay toward the end and the interviews with the CIA operatives were great. I loved when Kay said that he was sending reports back to Washington every week so that the administration wasn't suprised when he came back and reported what he did. But that they were suprised that he actually spoke out publicly about it. He said many people are scared to speak out because then they won't be "in the loop" anymore and won't be invited to lunch. He said that there isn't a lunch that is more important than telling the truth when you are in a position like that. It really impressed me because when they first brought him out I really felt like he was their puppet.

After the movie there was a Q&A with David Sirota and the editor from "In These Times" magazine. He couldn't even put together a coherent sentence. It was very disappointing. Rep. Jan Shankowski was suppose to be there but she had a family emergency so she couldn't make it. (I hope she is OK) I really wanted to ask her a question. She is really great.
They didn't turn up the lights so you couldn't see them very well, and although some people spoke out about Bush and the media I thought that there were a lot of "anybody but Bush", Kerry is a loser people. As a former Dean supporter I thought this was so lame. Even the guy from "In these times" was bashing Kerry's response to the Swift boat liars. They were saying he doesn't talk about the issues and is wishy washy. You weren't able to make speeches (although some did) so I couldn't stand up and defend him. I was very bummed out. I have grown to love Kerry and think he is going to make an excellent President. I wish these people would educate themselves. They are suppose to be on our side!
