I saw a documentary film today -- "WMD"

"Weapons of Mass Deception", a film by Danny Schechter, a former network news producer.

I found the article about it in the Dallas News, but in order to get the whole article I would have to register, and I don't do that anymore. Here is the URL for the search to find the page:

There is a lot in this film, and it's all about the media. The part that affected me most today was about a retired AF Corporal, who has gathered a large box of documents that prove some of the lies that were told on the runup to the war.

I haven't seen anything posted here about this film (doesn't mean there hasn't been), and am interested if anyone else has seen it.

I have heard of the movie, but haven't seen it. I do like Danny Schechter, and still get his "News Dissector" column sent to my e-mail, as well as mediachannel.org's newsletter. Schechter's column is part of the latter's site, which I recommend.

3. Thanks! A trailer, and more info. It occurs to me this might be a good

alternative, for those who want to take friends/relatives/work cohorts to an eye-opening film, but because of the negative right-wing spin, they aren't willing to go see F911. Since this film hasn't had any of that (so far), they might be willing to see this one. It's also available as a DVD.

Hm, do you mean the documents prove the lies were true? Or do you mean they prove the lies were false?

5. It's late, and I'm trying to type fast..... got ahead of my brain.... ^_^

The Corporal proved the claims for the necessity for going to war were lies.

Did that make more sense? :)

He didn't, of course, use the word "lie", and I'm going from memory of a long film, and the part of the Corporal was earlier on. If I had known it would make such an impression on me, I would have taken some notes. He struck me as a true patriot, who is more interested in what is good and right for his country, than in keeping himself out of the fray.

I hope you can see the film...... I can't get the trailer, and for all I know, the Corporal is shown in it.
