I saw Jon Stewart last night trying to explain ted Koppel how the media's job is to verify the truth of what they report, while Koppel was amazed of such an idea. he said that if bush would call him (Koppel) a pedofile and everyone would report that fact it would be justified....
So, the comedic part comes in that that the comedian understands the media's duty while the 'serious" media thinks they are the gossip club.

You are wrong. I have seen that show twist words around for the punchline. It is called comedy. That is what they do. Remember Not Necessarily the News? It was on HBO. That is where it all got started. Same concept. Same rules apply. I understand that John Stewart slants left but he still has to be funny. I have seen him screw with Kerry's speech as well. All for fun. If you are using Comedy Centrals The Daily Show for news then you really have your head up your ass. No getting around that. Thank You.

Welcome to DU. Stick around a while and you'll find that the Daily Show isn't the only place DUers go for news, or even the primary place. Jon Stewart has the ability to cut through the crap like nobody else, and calling it fake news gives him the cover to do it night after night.
