My last paranoid thought of the day... |
|
..there has been alot of doom and gloom around here lately, understandable to a degree because of the intense media-fallation of the gop, but things are not as dark as some would think...
I must confess that I was feeling rather glum last night after * had finished reading someone else's words from a tele-prompter (badly) and came here to check in and see what was up...there was a hodge-podge of emotions being expressed and then someone mentioned that Kerry was on the telly...so I logged off and watched. Kerry was magnificent. Forceful without being arrogant, sure-footed but not aloof and really, REALLY at ease with the crowd....I went to bed in a much more positive mood...
Anyway, as I perused the boards today I noticed thread upon thread offering up sure-fire ways to get Kerry elected, and calls for him to go after bush yada yada yada..the one that struck me most was the one suggesting that Kerry go after * about not finding OBL. OBL wasn't mentioned AT ALL during the RNCircle Jerk, and I for one was almost convinced that he was going to be rolled out on stage in chains with a big bow on his head...obviously that didn't happen, but it got me thinking....what if they already have OBL (dead or alive) and are simply laying the trap to see if Kerry starts calling him on it...they let Kerry go on for weeks and weeks about how * has failed, hasn't found OBL, his flip-flops (DOA changes to I'm not concerned about him) and then, bingo-presto 10 to 14 days prior to election bush holds a surprise press conference and announces that they've captured Bin Laden...
Kerry instantly becomes toast, and King George gets re-crowned without the need to cook the books at the booth.
I see this scenario as being much more likely than a bush 're' election if there is another terrorist attack...
I know I'm just being paranoid, but most of us here have posited that OBL has already been captured and will be "found" just in time for an October surprise, so why wouldn't the rethuglicans try and lure Senator Kerry into a trap that if sprung would almost guarantee * another four years?
Shit, they flat out stole the last election, I can think of almost nothing these SOB's wouldn't do in order to stay in power...

1. I agree. I do think it would be a mistake to pound Bush |
|
on Osama because, like you, I think they would have the gall to march him out and throw him at Kerry's feet - could even use an imposter, we'd never know. I still think Kerry should pound on Bush's relationahip with the fundies because I just don't think they make up the majority of Americans and most of us are just as scared of them as we are Osama.

what under handed thing they would/could dream up. I think it is wise for our candidate to be firm yet hold his cards close to his vest...if you get my meaning.
I can only hope that Kerry KNOWS all this stuff better than we do and that we worry for nothing..
(I'd still like to see Kerry smack Georgie about the head and shoulders with a fresh trout though)
