Phone company donates Beslan SMS money. |
|
A few days ago, a "chain-sms" campaign started in Italy and spread all over Europe within a few hours. It asked everyone to burn a candle by the window so everyone could see that those children in Beslan were in our hearts and minds.
That night, you could see candles burning in the windows of apartments in almost every major and minor city in Norway.
The phone company in Norway said it will be donating all the money it earned from those SMS messages to the Beslan victims. A check of more than 1 million NOK were given to the Red Cross on monday.
I'm sure not only the Norwegian phone company Telenor did something like this, but the article didn't mention any other.
